I Shall Defend....

This:

Why, you ask? Because IT DOES NOT MATTER TO ME!!

I love Clay Aiken. From his American Idol days until now, I have found him to be nothing short of genuine, mature, real......not to mention a superb singer!! (He should have won!)

However, for the life of me, I just can not understand why there is/was all of the media speculation over his sexual orientation. I do not care, and why should anyone? It is his private life, his personal business and nothing more.

For certain, it does not change, nor will it ever change the fact that he is a guy with an awesome voice and a very charming personality. He has been judged time and time again and it is really a shame.

I know of several gay people (mostly men) and they are real people, with thoughts, and feelings and rights, just like everyone else. I would not expect one of them to question me about my personal life and then judge me or degrade me for who I am.

I could go on and on about this, but I think I will end this by saying, no matter what the media tries to do, how the fans/non-fans react, it will not change the facts. Clay is awesome!

Here are a couple videos:

An awesome song and performance:

SHAKIN' CLAY AIKIN! Did I spell his last name wrong? I think so.

I like him, too. HOWEVER, his one single "Invisible" is a little peeping tom status if you ask me. "If I was invisible, then I could just watch you in your room". WHOA CLAY, BACK OFF.

I've never understood the whole Clay-mania, but you'd definitely fit right into NC. They LOVE him here in his home state.

Thanks for stopping by my blog as a part of BATW!

Amy, I agree. I don't care who people sleep with or don't sleep with, as long as it's not my husband you can do whatever you want. The fact that Clay has admitted to the world that he is gay does not change the person that he is. So what? Bet you didn't know I'm left handed. Doesn't make a dang bit o' difference.

I can't say I'm a big fan of his, just not my style, but I can appreciate his talent, skills and heart for what he does. I agree... as long as he's not after Mr. B...

Yea, not into his music, but who cares about his personal life, right?

Amen Sista! WHY does it matter and WHY does the media always have to make a big fuss over it?!

I never followed AI or Clay, but I agree with you. Who cares, to each his own!

I'm kind of so-so about Clay as a singer, but gosh he can live his life however he chooses. I've never understood why people cared bout his orientation. What does it matter?

I saw the article and I thought, "I could have told them that!" But like you said, who cares? If you are entertained by his talent, that's all you need to know.

I agree with you and it really doesn't matter to me what his sexual preference is. I think it's a shame that celebrities face the fear of being "outted" by the media so they feel they have to share their personal lives with the world.

I agree with you too. I never could understand why it matters what anyone's sexual orientation is..seriously, there's so much more to life that should matter.

I really don't care... People can do what they want to -- why does it all have to be so in your face! i don't want people to know what I do in my bedroom and I really don't care what they do in theirs, as long as they aren't hurting someone.

I whole heartedly agree.
I could care less about someone's sexual orientation..
as long as they are a good person..its all good..
and yes he is a fantastic singer...
Now if everyone thought like you , the world would be a much happier place.

I'm with you. I am such a clay fan. I have a tendency to love nerdy guys, and I fell head over heals for him when he did his audition and I cheered him on the whole way. I just hope that now that everything is out there he finds some peace!

I don't know how it became front page news. I mean, didn't every one know from the first time he hit the stage? Why is it "news" now?

I don't listen to his music, but I don't care if he is gay or not either...I mean were we really that surprised?

Thank you for liking him for the person he is. :)
