I don't know if it's how some people are raised or if it's just in their nature. To do wrong. To steal from others. To go against the law. To hurt people.
Today I went to the ATM, which I have not used in quite awhile. As I retrieved my receipt, I noticed my account balance seemed way off. Not over off, under off. I had a WTF moment.
I got back to work and I immediately pulled up my account online. Lo and behold. A paypal debit from my account for $478 !!! Double WTF moment.
I then went to my paypal account to see what was going on and in my confusion, noticed that there were no recent transactions. I am still WTF-ing at this moment. Surprisingly, I stayed calm. That. is. so. not. me!!
When I got home from work I called the number from the verification email I received after changing my password. The lady says she doesn't see any transaction either. She asks for my debit card number and I give it to her, all the while cringing and praying she wasn't a thief out to get me also!
It seems some woman by the name of TEENA somebody or other, stole my debit card number somehow and opened a paypal account and bought her happy little @$$ something nice as a gift from me.
I have to call my bank and report my debit card stolen.
Look out TEENA whoever you are. You are gonna get it!! You are going down sister!!

I swear PayPal is the downfall of society. I have had so many weird theft type of things related to that. It scares the junk outta me.
Your bank should cover it. Just report it ASAP.

One thing I have learned after shopping online for years is to NEVER EVER believe those emails you get saying that you need to log-on to your account at either paypal/ebay/banks etc.
When you put your hover your little cursor over the link without clicking, you can look in the lower left corner of your browser window and see the html address of where that link will take you if you click on it---and it usually is something weird with tons of letters.
Never click on them, I just go straight to the website myself and log-on--if there is a problem--it will let you know.
Hope you get it straightened out. I can honestly say that after buying online for 8+yrs--I have only had a problem once with my credit card--and it was for a subscription to online porn--and I didn't even get to enjoy it!! :o LOL ;)
Well that totally sucks...I hope you don't get stuck with the charge. I don't know how debit cards work.. And Karma is gonna get Teena even if you can't!
Oh and speaking of which...thanks ever so much for informing me that I'm as young as I feel.....YIKES woman don't be depressing me like that!! I turned 48 and I feel about 102!
That's awful! I hope they find her - or at least that you get your money back!
That happened to me once - the jerk bought tons of stuff at Walgreens and a brand new set of tires for their car! Thankfully I dind't have to pay for it but they still got the stuff for free.
Amy- that sucks so bad! I'm sorry you have to deal with this mess now. I hope you can resolve everything quickly and hopefully, painfully.
