My dad called today. His mother, my grandmother, who is 86 years old, is not doing well. She has had some problems in the last month or so. She has been hospitalized several times and has an inoperable (because of her age) bone spur in her throat. Today they sent her home because there was nothing else they could do for her. I just pray that she doesn't suffer.
This is a picture of her and my grandfather (who passed away almost 12 years ago) taken many many years ago after one of their fishing trips.

On another sad note, Mr. Sweetie left today to go to Kentucky for the ice storm. As I mentioned before, he works with the utility companies for a tree cutting company, as a manager. He basically rides around all day in his truck supervising the actual tree trimming. Anyhow, he thought it could be a possibility that he'd have to go. Today he got the news. Not sure how long he will have to be gone. I will miss him.

I am sad.

I am so sorry you are sad :-(
I have no words in which to make you feel better, other than, I will think happy and comforting thought towards you and your family.
I hope that your sadness is brief.
Oh Amy! That is so much to take on! I will be praying for you and for your Grandma, and for Mr. Sweetie's quick return so he can be with you through this!
I'm sorry about your grandmother. I hope everything goes well.
And try to cheer up. =)
Sorry to hear he's away and you're dealing with family sickness. What a bad start to the weekend. :( I hope your sweetie stays safe.

Wanna come over? I'm thinking about Gramma today... and I don't think I'm going to get to be with Mr. B for my birthday nor Valentines... so... wanna come over and we'll drown our sorrows in the liquid of our choosing.
What a terrible time for your guy to be called away. I'm really sorry to hear about your Grandmom. I am sending positive thoughts your way.
Amy- so sorry that you're dealing with so much yuck right now. I'm sending prayers your way and an ehug (((AMY)))
Prayers for peace and comfort coming your way ~ I have a friend who lives/works in Kentucky ~ He is part of the HNS Disaster Response ~ He might deal with your Mr. Sweetie ~ (((Amy)))
Oh, my. That's a lot all at once.
But speaking as someone who was without power for four days, Mr. Sweetie is doing a wonderful thing. I could have hugged the crews from OH that were in our town. Or at least made them cookies... If I had power, that is.
I'm sorry about your grandmother...its so hard when they reach an age where their health fails. And I'm sorry your hubby has to go away for awhile. Mine travels quite often and it does suck being home without them!
Are you feeling better today, at least? And how his your grandmother?
i'm so sorry about your grandmother! i'm thinking of you and praying for her.
