She-He-It

First of all, I would just like to say that I am not prejudiced. I am very open minded and do not have a problem with people in their beliefs/religion/political views, etc. I have my own and I pretty much keep them to myself.

However, I went to school with a girl who is now not a 'girl'/woman today. She has become a HE. And I will have to face her/him/it today!

That reason being, 'they' got a ticket in this city I work for, and since I handle all of those citations here at city court and because 'they' choose to dispute it, I will have to deal with 'them' today! Like in a short while from now!

Now I said I have no problems with people who choose to live their lives however they see fit for them. And I don't. The problem I have is....is this person going to call themselves out to me? I've talked to them on the phone (twice!) and I recognize the voice (although it's a bit different now) but will they talk to me as if they know me, or totally ignore any form of recognition of me?

I wish I could hide! I'll let you know what happens!

LOL If they acknowledge you...simply address them as the name given on the ticket. Respect the change they've made and pretend it's how you've always known them. It'll be a very kind gesture from YOU to appear accepting, even if you are struggling with the change right now.

I can honestly say I don't know what I would do. I guess take their lead. Let us know.

I agree with Tooj! Respect the person by respecting the choice. Good luck with that ackward situation.

Meh - I know you'll be adult about the whole thing...but seriously...SERIOUSLY. I just have nothing to say that won't get me hate mail.

Good luck with that...I would have trouble with giggling cause I tend to do that in akward situations.
