Now and Later..

This weekend, I am taking my girls to see this cutie:

And as a reward to myself for being such a kind, thoughtful mother, I bought tickets to see this cutie in a month from now:

Jason Derulo

We listen to the radio at work. All. Day. Long! There are some songs, I would love to set a bonfire to and never have them played again for all eternity!

Yet, there are a few choice ones that I absolutely love and just can not get enough of. Surprisingly, I have come to like a song that is nowhere near the style of music that I tend to listen to, but for whatever reason, I was drawn to this one. I even downloaded his WHOLE CD!

I introduce to you, Jason Derulo:

I recommend cranking it up, because well, that's how it sounds best!

Flash Back Friday-Weeble Wobble

My daughter and I were reading some of her required summer reading for school, and in the book (which is set back in the days before even *I* existed) it mentioned a toy that the child was playing with. In describing it, the book stated that it was made heavy on the bottom, allowing it to stay in an upright position. I turned to her and said, "Sorta like a 'Weeble Wobble', to which she replied, "What's a Weeble Wobble"?

Um, duh! How could I expect my ten year old child to remember these things?:

My sister and I played with Weeble Wobble's plenty of times in our childhood and being the defiant and persistant child that I was, I always did everything I could to try and make them stay lying on their side. Not an easy feat for the toy that claims to "wobble, but never fall down"!

Positively Positive!

Since my decision to take a step back from my relationship and analyze things: My life, my feelings, my ability to be a happier me....I've decided to attempt to look at things in a more positive light.

If anyone in the world is negative, I would be that one. Not to blame that on anyone, because I love(d) my parents dearly, but I grew up in a lot of negativity. Don't get me wrong, I had a great childhood and I could not have asked for more from it, but everything, and I mean everything was always looked at as the ever popular glass half empty.

One of the things that I have decided to do is surround myself with happier, much more positive aspects of life. In searching for something such as this, I came across some very inspiring quotes that I wanted to share:

“Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours”

I really have taken this one to heart, it is something I want to live by every day!

********************

“Instead of thinking about what you're missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.”

I can totally do this one! I know how fortunate I am to have the people I have in my life and the love that not everyone is so fortunate to have.

One day at a time! One step at a time! I am on the path to better days!

What To Do

First up, thanks to all of you sweet people who offered for me to move near you. I would love to take a leap of faith and just do it, but I can't. Not now.

I took a step back from the relationship that I am in and asked for some space. Now all I feel like doing is crying. I am 40 years old, I am not married and my whole life is up in the air. They say you will know what to do, when the time is right. I guess that time is not here yet.

Strange as it sounds, I said before that I did not want to get married again, but I actually want to be married. What is wrong with me? Someone, please tell me! This is so confusing.

The only conclusion that I can come to is that I am scared. Scared to make a mistake. Scared to be miserable. Scared that I will fail again.

As far as the relationship I am in, if it could just be he and I, we could conquer the world together. We could live happily ever after and never look back. Except for the fact that we both have two children. Each. Children that we share with other people and these little people are being raised in two completely different manners. On two opposite ends of the spectrum.

And that is where I falter. I hesitate. I step back. I dig my heels in and scream "whooaaa".

So now I sit here alone and ponder what to do. What to do, what to do. Sit here alone half of the time while he has his weekend visitation with his kids for the next 5 to 7 years, or do I move on?

That is the question, and boy is it a doozy!

Calgon, where are you?

You've been warned. This post is all about bitching and I am in just the right mood to do it!

First of all, I cooked supper. My girls left to go with their dad. Last minute. I'm left to eat alone. Not happy!

So I decide to pop in my Netflix DVD and watch some good ol' Nip/Tuck. Guess what? Wrong disc in the envelope. Wonderful!

Now what? I sit and write. And gripe!

There have been many times in my life where I have just wanted to run away. Seriously! I have always felt like I did not 'belong' here. Here being the exact location in which I reside. Like this whole STATE!

Confused? Well, you know how people who have sex changes say that they felt like they were born in the wrong body and need to change it? That's me. Only I am in the right body, just not the right PLACE! The wrong state, as in United States? I just need another one. Like one that is far enough away to be away from HERE.

My happy place, if you will. Because other than my family (what's left of it....my dad and my sister) and a few close friends, oh and of course, my job, which I love, I feel like I need to leave. I want to GO!

Today would be a good start, only I have no clue exactly which state I would go to. A friend of mine laughs at me still today, because when I was around 18-20 yrs old, I would always say I was going to move to Nebraska! Why there, I have no clue. Maybe I just thought it sounded good.

Another thing holding me here is my girls. They absolutely would not be happy to leave their dad and I could not do that to them. I keep saying that when my baby graduates high school, I am out of here. That's still 8 years away. *SIGH*

What to do? What to do? I guess I have no choice but to stick it out and suck it up, huh? Oh well.

Calgon, take me away!!

Oh What A Day!

Girls day out was a good one, but a stressful one nonetheless, and I will get to that later. First I want to share my thoughts on Eclipse:

* I did not find this movie to be 'the best yet'. Honestly, of the four books in the saga, I found this one to be the one I enjoyed the least.

*If you skipped this movie and went straight from New Moon into Breaking Dawn, I do not think you would have missed any major plot.

*I noticed many very young children at the theater and several moms explaining scenes to them. People, if you have to explain a movie to your child, they are too young to be watching it!!

*Kudos to Edward for wanting to 'wait until marriage'. If not, this movie would have been rated R!

*Jacob, put a shirt on. Oh and get a nose job, because you are NOT "hotter than" Edward!

I'm just sayin. I was not that impressed. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I would not gush about it.

We went shopping afterwards and my youngest took her purse into Old Navy and left it in the dressing room. We did not discover this slip up until maybe 3 hours later. Frantically we made our way all the way back through the city to find that the salesgirl had turned it in to the lost and found.

Heart attack, stroke, breakdown averted. The reason for panic? Her Nintendo DS was inside of it!

Never a dull moment, I tell ya!
