Pathetic is the Word

I have never been what you would call 'fat'. As a baby, yes, but as I got older, no. In fact, I was incessantly teased for being 'skinny' in grade school.

It's all in my stomach. I try not to eat too much junk food, I really try. Hard. But it calls out to me. Daily.

I joke with my youngest daughter and tell her that she forgot some of her baby fat in my belly when she moved out. She's 8. It should be gone by now.

My height has always been a factor to my weight. The reason being, I am tall. So that is my excuse for weighing 160 pounds. 5'10" tall and 160 pounds. Not bad. But my stomach bugs me.

Years ago, I worked out at the gym and that darn stomach would not go away. I couldn't even get 5 pounds off. Then my husband left me and I lost 15 pounds within a couple of weeks. Go figure! I felt great weight-wise. My flabby little tummy was gone and it felt wonderful. I weighed in at a mere 145.

Then I met Mr. Sweetie.

Mr. Sweetie likes to eat. He likes to take me out to eat. Not at crappy little food places, he likes to eat good food. Olive Garden. Outback Steakhouse. Mexican. Chinese. He likes it all. But so do I. Too much.

So now I am back to my 'old'-when-I-was-married weight. I am the only one with the issue. Nobody else notices it or really cares about my little pooch. I wish it would go away though.

And I sit here eating a Nutty Bar. *sigh*

Thanks for making the journey to New Zealand on the BATW flight.

Interested in this post about weight having lost 45 pounds in the last two years. Don't aspire to something in the past, create a new vision for the future. With Mr Sweetie in your life there's plenty for you to be looking forward to.

It works! Try it.

That happened to me too. I lost a bunch of weight for my wedding and then had my youngest right away. Now, I have A LOT of weight to lose but you know what, I am happier than I have ever been. So, I am working out for health and the rest will work out:-)

You know, domestic bliss doesn't do good for my waistline. Not Matt Damon has been gone a LOT over the last year, when I lost all the weight. Now that he's back...we're eating. Ugh. We love food. We love food together. It ain't good.

I'll trade that nutty bar for a honey bun!! LOL. From the pictures you have shared, you are beautiful. Enjoy those dinners with Mr. Sweetie. Life's too short not to enjoy some cheesecake and great Louisiana food. Why do you think we live here??

You are gorgeous, inside AND out, so try not to be too concerned about the "pooch". It happens! (Especially to yours truly, who after a lazy summer, is starting to study fitness training and should probably try to look the part..oops!:)) Right now you are happy with Mr. Sweetie, plus you're at a job you enjoy...being at that happy place in your life is most of the battle.

But if you want me to start yelling at you like some crazed Richard Simmons (but I refuse to wear sequins and short shorts), you just let me know! ;)

Hey, I don't waan hear it! lol I'm 5'7" and wish I could get down to 160!! From the pics I've seen I think you look great. And you seem to be in a good place now and happy with Mr. S, that's what matters! Hmm, maybe I should start following my own advice!

5'10" and 160 isn't bad at all. Although health is important it doesn't sound like you have too much to worry about. Just enjoy your happiness! :)

Well, your man loves you for who you are, and that's wonderful!!

I don't understand people who never change weight...up or down. How do they do it?!

I have always struggled with my weight and 10 years ago was 105lbs, the lightest I have ever been since I was probably 10! Then over the years it crept back on and of course, having Ned made me look like the Michelin man. It doesn't help that I am only 5'2" so I tend to look like a barrel when fat.

I have just started using Herbalife as my friend dropped 30lbs and looks great, just replacing my evening meal with one shake. The rest of the time I am eating sensibly but not restricting myself and I have dropped 3lbs so far this week, feel a boost in energy and am not craving anything! I will let you know if my belly disappears!

You sound JUST like me! I am 5'9 and weigh 160 with that same belly! My husband & I also love to eat out and we quit smoking 8 years ago and it's SO hard to lose the weight!

UGH! James left me a little kangaroo pouch with complimentary wrinkly stretch marks. When a burglar breaks in, I just lift my shirt up and he surrenders.

My best advice is to start small. Literally. Get one of those cheap little pedometers. Wear it around for a couple of days, see how many steps you take a day. 5000 is moderate. Then try to add 2000 steps to whatever your number is. That gets you more active. As for food, I fell victim to running for lunch as a working mom. Now I force myself to stretch those ginormous portions into two meals. It really has helped!
