Miss Smarty Pants

The other day I was doing my usual motherly duty of telling my daughter about how important it is to grasp her school work from the beginning. In years past, she has had some struggles, so I am trying to get her off to a great start.

My youngest offspring chimes in with this: School is like a movie, if you don't pay attention in the beginning, you won't know what's going on!

She has a point. And I would like to believe she gets her smarts from me!

Hang on a minute, why did no one say that to me when I started at school?
I would have so paid attention then (me turning out to be a bit of a movie junkie an all).
Tsk.
