It always seems like someone is dieting and I always looked upon those persons with pity. I have been very fortunate in my life to be blessed with a tall stature and somewhat thin frame. Yay me, right?
Well, now I have a muffin top and it is not of the blueberry variety. It is on my middle section and it has got to go. Immediately.
Short of starving myself, which to me would work best, but I like to eat, I have decided to do something that would still allow some sort of nourishment into my bod.
Food of the fattening type is all around me. I live in a part of the world that is famous for it's fried foods, gravies and excess calories. The temptation to 'cheat' is all around me.
I will be strong. I will do this, I know I can. I am on a Slim Fast plan and I hope it works just as the name says.....Fast!
Anyway today is my first day, and it seems to have curbed my hunger. So far. By this evening, I may be gnawing on a whole side of beef!
What diets, if any, have worked for you?

You CAN do it, Amy...I have full confidence in you! As for me...I've never been a dieter. I choose to eat in moderation and exercise 5 days a week. It always makes me feel SO much better.
The only one that has ever worked for me is weight watchers...but we'll see what I do after baby...WW is kind of cost prohibitive right now! Good luck!
I tried Slim Fast a few years ago and loved it...BUT I ended up very C.O.N.S.T.I.P.A.T.E.D and it was very very bad. So make sure you watch that closely. I am currently doing 1500 calories and 48-64 ounces of water. The weight is coming off the same as it did with any other plan or system that I have tried.
Weight Watchers works for us. Some people don't like counting points though.
Good Luck!
Slimming World for me!

Calories in and calories out is the only thing that works for me. So, I am getting back on the horse when the kids go back to school:-)
I have a slim fast shake every morning before going to the gym. It gives me the right amount of energy. I don't follow the whole diet though, like everyone else has said, just count your calories, write down everything you eat (you'll be amazed!) and work out a bit!
I use smaller plates.
Limit snacks to a couple days a week.
Drink water.
Stop having change that tempts me to use the vending machine.
This was a great post. I hope your meat taste wonderful. You can do anything you put your mind to.
I've been doing LA Weight Loss (centers) on and off for a few years. The first go round I lost 50lbs and this go round so far I am down 21 lbs sine the end of April. I also do some running and kettlebell workouts!
Good luck to you!!!!
I have lost weight on Weight Watchers, but have been the most successful using guidelines on realage.com and You On A Diet.
Go Amy! Best of luck to you. I so need to do the same, but I love to eat!
I know you're gonna laugh, but the only "diet" that ever worked for me was Richard Simmon's Deal a Meal! lol I actually was able to eat ice cream every night and I never felt hungry. Damn, sometimes I wish I would have never thrown that thing out!
I wish you and the muffin top lots and lots of luck. :) Temptation can be hard to resist. I keep buying cookies for some reason. Happy Monday!
Chganging your eating habits slowly is the best way to go. I say that as by doing so there nearly always is a lasting effect.
I honestly don't know how I feel about these Slim Fast plans. Only because they're just not realistic. When you've lost the weight, you're not going to continue drinking those nasty shakes, are you? Eating right and exercise is the only way to go, in my opinion. Yeah, says that FAT GIRL!
Justine :o )
I'm kind of lukewarm on slim-fast. It can't possibly be good for you, and it's impossible to maintain. Changing what you eat is key, difficult as it is.. plus exercise. Taking up running is the only thing that worked for me. Except for the one time when I had bronchitis... then the flu. I most definitely do not recommend that! Good luck!
