Ahhhh, it is Saturday and that is the #1 thing I have to be happy about! This week seemed to drag by so slowly. Now I can finally take some time to get some much needed rest.
I am so happy to be done with the second (and for now, final) phase of my home improvement project. I feel like I have a whole new house (or half of one, anyway). It is such a relief and comfort to sit and relax and enjoy all the new-ness and fresh-ness!
This is the before: Notice the drab white walls and the stained blue carpet. The carpet was so beautiful when we first had it installed over 15 years ago, but after babies/children who spilled/puked/pissed on it, it had seen better days.
This is the AFTER: I love my new floors, my freshly painted walls, and the over-all comfort of a fresh new space!
I am also happy and excited to have gotten a new flat screen 42" HD-TV for my new living area. It's really nice, and I can stream Netflix straight to it from the Blu-Ray player that I got, also.
Thanks, Uncle Sam, for being so good to me this year, allowing me to splurge a little and enjoy myself.

The renovation looks great! I am obviously tired, because I read your statement about "Uncle Sam" and thought, "Aww, her uncle's really generous." Ha! Fail. It registered within a couple of seconds. :)

YAY!!! It looks gorgeous! He was pretty ok to us as well, although we have a bathroom in major need of some fixes. I think the whole thing plus some will have to be spent in there. Booo! Did I mention I want wood floors??? :)

Hi Amy! Hoping over to say hello on your blog. Love your new floors!! We recently redid our dining room, kitchen, and laundry room floors. It was a pain while it was going on, especially since the hubby decided to do it during the holidays, but so worth it in the end.

We're about to remodel our kitchen...Lord have mercy. We tiled our own bathroom last year and we nearly killed each other. I'm dreading what the kitchen project will do to us!
