Happy Saturday!

Ahhhh, it is Saturday and that is the #1 thing I have to be happy about! This week seemed to drag by so slowly. Now I can finally take some time to get some much needed rest.

I am so happy to be done with the second (and for now, final) phase of my home improvement project. I feel like I have a whole new house (or half of one, anyway).  It is such a relief and comfort to sit and relax and enjoy all the new-ness and fresh-ness!


This is the before:  Notice the drab white walls and the stained blue carpet. The carpet was so beautiful when we first had it installed over 15 years ago, but after babies/children who spilled/puked/pissed on it, it had seen better days.

This is the AFTER:  I love my new floors, my freshly painted walls, and the over-all comfort of a fresh new space!

I am also happy and excited to have gotten a new flat screen 42" HD-TV for my new living area.  It's really nice, and I can stream Netflix straight to it from the Blu-Ray player that I got, also. 

Thanks, Uncle Sam, for being so good to me this year, allowing me to splurge a little and enjoy myself.

Wee Bit of Me...

{one} what was your first job?
 I worked for a major grocery store chain for 11 years. I was 19 when I started and 30 when it shut down. I made gooood money working there too. I do not miss the hours though.


{two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?
 Yes! My friend and I saw one just a few months ago at the casino.


{three} when was the last time you played mini golf?
 Never. I have done putt-putt golf years ago. My boyfriend was once an avid golfer though and has clubs. He talks about going and bringing me, but I think I will pass. It looks so boring on TV!


{four} what was the last picture you took?
 I took one of my daughter reading her book in my bed.


{five} burnt food: yes or no?

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
 Put it in my wallet and spend it!
{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?
 Why would I want to? Gross...and no!


{eight} do you scrapbook?
 No. I have thought about it, but I do not have the patience to do it. Or the time.


{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?
 Very very seldom.  Almost never. Guess I will never win, huh?
{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?

Shattered!

Friday afternoon my neighbor that lives across from me, came running to my door that she needed to see me right away.

Her husband was cutting the grass and something flew out of the ditch he was cutting and hit the back of my van!

Causing this:

The whole back glass, shattered!

I was sorta pissed.  Well, to be honest, a lot pissed! However, like I told them, it was an accident and nobody was hurt.  They paid for a new one and all is good now.  Thank goodness!

Friday Confessional

Here we go, time to confess and cleanse the mind, body and soul. 

I confess.... that the home improvement continues this weekend (this time the living room) and I don't feel like it.  Seriously. I am tired and I just want to lay in my bed all weekend and watch movies.

But I have to do it. I know, I know! Once it's done I will be so happy I did it.

I may need some caffeine this weekend.  Or a gorgeous masseuse to work the knots outta my ....oops!

Where was I?

I confess... that I am so happy this week is over. Some days, and in this case, some weeks, I just can not get myself together. This was one of them. I need organization in my life and of the utmost importance right now, some major relaxation time.

Or a vacation! Yep, that would work also.  Plus, the masseuse! *Grin*

I confess... that I am a facebook addict. I read status after status update and get all up in the people's business. Not to mention, the games. I have a farm and a city and a fairy garden...and that is what I cut myself down to. It was much worse than that.

Maybe I need an intervention. Or a life!

Eleven years ago today, I gave birth to yet another baby girl!

Alyssa Morgan weighed 8lbs. 6 oz.

She grew into such a cutie and entertained us daily!

I love you with all my heart! ( Our words to each other everyday) Happy Birthday, baby girl!

 Hot fudge...and a cherry!  Dangit! Now I will be thinking about that ALL day long!

 I may have some in the bottom of my closet, buried there, but I do not wear them. I like bare feet.

 Nope, but we climbed trees. It was so much fun!

Ok, this is funny and no making fun....when I was 14 years old, I went to my very first concert ever. Rick Springfield, of course! The show was general admission and we waited in line from 7 am that morning until just before the show.  Fun times!

My Happy List

This is my first Happy List with Mamarazzi! I have quite a few things to be happy about this week, so here goes:

First of all, I am happy that Blogger changed up our tool options at the top, for changing fonts, using bold, text size, etc.  Nice!

I am very happy that my bedroom is just like I always wanted it. Makes for a happy place for me to rest and get my sanity back after a long day.

My girls are with me this weekend! They usually go to their dad's every weekend, but he had to work this time, so they are hanging with me today and I am very happy about that. Girl time is awesome!

I am happy that it is going to be a nice weather day.  My baby is having a birthday this week, so it will be a perfect day/weekend to get some great photos of her!

I am happy that Pandora radio plays all of my favorite songs on their 80's channel.  I love the 80's!

Friday Confessional

It's that time again!

I confess...that last weekend when I went to get a few things at Walmart, I pounced the little girl outside selling Girl Scout Cookies! I only bought one box though!

I confess... that I ate that one box. All. By. My. Self! And damn, they were good!  Samoas are my best friend!

I confess... that I have been very lazy this week. After a chock-a-block full weekend of hard work, I needed some rest. Tuesday I had the day off and I did absolutely nothing but lay in bed and watch TV all day.

I confess... that when I did all of the work in my bedroom I could not see myself putting that huge dinosaur of a television back in there..(you know the ones that stick out 82 feet in the back!?) so I went out and bought a brand new 22" HDTV flat screen.  It's awesome. Just sayin!

Home Improvement

I live in a fairly old house. I am not sure exactly how old it is, but when my ex husband and I bought it 15 years ago, it was the perfect 'starter' home.

We basically purchased it, slapped some white paint on every wall in the place and replaced some carpet in three rooms. End of story.

Fast forward to present day. I have had enough of living in what remains a reminder to me of what once was. So the only way to do that is to do some major changing.

First up, my bedroom.  I did not take any 'before' photos because I did not want to remember it the way that it was and I definitely was not going to share with the outside world. The carpet had become horrid!  I swear I will never 'do' carpet again.

My project included painting the walls and replacing the carpet with vinyl wood floors! I love them!

The color in these photos looks almost 'pink' but they are actually a very light tan. I wanted something neutral so I could decorate however I choose.

Brand spanking new flooring!

My new wooden blinds! No more of those yucky-impossible-to-clean vinyl mini blinds.  These are fresh and clean and oh so pretty!

After I get the chance to visit Hobby Lobby and decorate my walls and the rest of my bedroom, I will share more photos. Hopefully it will not take me another 15 years!

Next up for the home improvement- my living room!

Wee Bit of Me...

I've been 'out of the loop' for the past few days because over the weekend I was doing some major home improvement! So exciting! My boyfriend and I pulled out all of the carpet in my bedroom, painted, and installed some wooden floors! For three days we worked like some dogs, but we finished it, and I love it. However, Monday I was so tired I could barely function. Thankfully yesterday was Mardi Gras and I had the day off work to rest. I am good to go now, until we do my living room next!



     

{one} what color is your kitchen?
White, and I hate it. My kitchen will be another 'home improvement' project later, but that will be something for a professional to tangle with.

{two} do you have a good luck charm?
No and I don't believe I ever have had one.

{three} do you prefer to write with a pen or pencil?

A pen. Pencils make that scratchy noise and make me grit my teeth!

{four} can you use chopsticks?
I have never tried them and I am pretty sure I could not. I like to eat without frustration!

{five} do you prefer baths or showers?
Baths!

{six} what is your favorite salad dressing?
Ranch


{seven} can you sing the alphabet backwards?
NOT!

{eight} do you have any allergies?
Every time a medical professional asks me this, I tell them PAIN! Please do not hurt me!

{nine} crunchy or creamy peanut butter?
Creamy with a big ole glass of milk!

{ten} have you ever hitch hiked?
No! I have seen too many horror movies about hitch hiking, they do not ever turn out well!

A Wee Bit Of Me!

No I do not wear them and I can not see myself spending money on them either.


{two} do you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night?
I wish! I would have to be in bed sleeping at 9pm because I am up at 5am, so no.


{three} what’s your favorite way to eat an oreo?
With milk, of course! It varies though, sometimes I open them but mostly I eat them after dunking them in milk.


{four} do you wear shoes in your house?
Yes. I am about to replace my carpet with wood floors, so this may change.


{five} who would you call first if you won the lottery?
A lawyer!! Then a travel agent!


{six} have you ever been in a food fight?
Not a major one.


{seven} do you snore?
I have been told that I do, and I've actually woken myself up. Old age?


{eight} do you know how fast you type?
I don't know the actual WPM, but it's fairly good timing.

{nine} can you do a headstand (without using a wall)?
Only if I wanted to break my neck! No


{ten} how do you like your popcorn?
Hot and buttered and all to myself. I do not like other people sticking their germy hands in my food. I am anal like that!
