Table Topics Tuesday

Photobucket

This week's topic: What three celebrities would you invite to dinner?

Are you kidding me? I would not want any celebrity in my house. Not at all!!

However!!!!

Supposing that this dinner could be partaken at, let's say, a nice restaurant somewhere, then all would be fine with the world and this is my list of three:

1. Rick Springfield. Yes! It's a given..I adore the man, have for 30 years and that's all there is to it. Don't hate. Or cut him down, because then I would have to disown you as a friend! And we don't want that, now do we?

2. Patrick Dempsey. The one and only McDreamy! I just swoon every. single. time. he looks so lovingly at Meredith. It's real. I want that. From him!

3. Adam Lambert. I know! I know! But I seriously *heart* him and I want to sit and have him sing. Just. To. Me!

Now, I am pretty sure that not one bite of food would be taken by me, but I would be quite fulfilled when I left THIS particular dinner party!

Who would YOU invite??

"Lucky"

Since I have discovered the wonderful world of the blogosphere, I have entered many many giveaways. Along the way, on this journey we call blogging, I have won something a time or two.

I recently won again and I was more than thrilled, to say the least, so I felt a blog post was in order, just to give props to the fab lady who had the giveaway, and the one who sponsored it!

Shannon, who lives in The NutHouse, has another blog, called Reviews from The NutHouse and she hosted a giveaway recently, sponsored by Kristen's Custom Creations.

This is what I won:

It came in the mail today and I was so thrilled!
Thanks ladies!!
Go ahead and give these girls a visit, you will be happy you did!

Four Eyes

Last weekend, after many complaints of headaches and not being able to see the board in class, Chelsea had a visit to the eye doctor!

The result was that she indeed needed glasses and would definitely have to wear them in class. His exact quote, when I asked if she needed them all the time was, "I want her wearing them in the classroom, I don't care if Spongebob is blurry."

The first set of frames she chose were really cute, but the price tag was more than I cared to think about and knowing that her father would not be jumping hurdles to pay the bill, which he did not, I talked her into a less expensive, but just as cute pair:

It breaks my heart that her father, who don't get me wrong, pays his fair share of child support, but was also ordered to pay all medical expenses, practically blew me off when I asked for help.
The first thing she said when she placed her new specs on her nose, was "I can see!"
And frankly, knowing that her life is a little brighter, better, simpler.... is all I needed!

Table Topics Tuesday

This week's topic is:

Would you rather live for a week in the past
or in the future?

Photobucket

As much as I would love to see what my future holds, I am going to have to go with the past!

I would love to go back 20 years, back to the day when I was single and still living at home. A time when I had no worries, no bills, nobody that depended on me. *Not to mention, a flat stomach*.

I would love to live a week of my life in the past that I made certain decisions and change many of them. The choice about my future, my career and my love life. *I would still have the daughters I have today though, that would be the only thing I would not change*

Who knows where I would be today?!

What would you do?

About This Thing Called Blogging

This month marks two whole years that I have been blogging. *Pay no mind to my blogoversary button because I think it is fried*

Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed this thing called blogging. Not only do I enjoy writing, but I love getting to know other women around the world by reading their blogs also.

I subscribe to quite a few blogs through Google Reader, and to say that there a wide variety of the types of blogs I read, is an understatement.

From cooking blogs to photography related blogs to the stay at home "mommy blogs", I enjoy them all.

One thing that I have realized is that most of these writers give you some really personal accounts of their lives and do not always share the bare minimum when it comes to talking about themselves. I think those are the ones I enjoy the most!

That being said, I do believe that I am going to start sharing more of ME with YOU. More topics about what is going on in my life....the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly.

Why, you ask? Because although my blog has always been basically about me, I have held back and resisted sharing what I am going through on a more personal level. Major things that have happened and that are going to happen. Funny things and not so funny things.

With the start of spring begins an all new fresh beginning of me. A time to share, vent, communicate and be that writer that I always wanted to be.

I am looking forward to being more open and honest and having readers that I can interact with and share my thoughts with. Thanks for being here for me and for your feedback. It means the world to me.

The Birthday Girl is Ten!

Ten years ago today I was in the hospital having my second and final child. Another girl!

My labor was induced and I was determined to have her on the 16th, but being the stubborn child she is, the 17th became her official date of birth.

The past decade had been quite an adventure and I look forward to the next few decades, watching my beautiful baby girl become a young lady!

Happy 10th Birthday, Alyssa Morgan!

Diet? or Exercise?

Is it harder for you to eat healthy or get exercise?

Photobucket

To be honest, this is a no-brainer for me! I believe 'eating healthy' and 'exercising' tie for first place in which is harder for me. Seriously.

There was a time in my life...a time when I was married and had someone to financially support me...that I did exercise and I did eat healthy! We belonged to the gym and because the funds were coming out of that account, my happy little butt was there religiously. Needless to say, in the past 3 plus years, I have not been in a regular workout/exercise routine. Bad me!

Eating healthy is a slight bit easier for me than exercising, but I do not have much discipline in that area. I do tend to promise myself, buy the foods, and then finish them and stray. Again, bad me!

Because I have high blood pressure (controlled by meds) healthy diet and exercise should be at the top of my priorities. Sadly, my will power causes me to fail. Not to mention, laziness. The only excuse for not exercising is that I work fulltime, and then come home to take care of my home and my daughters and that leaves me practically zero time or energy to do it!

I guess if I had to choose which was harder, it would be exercise. I do tend to eat the occasional salad and skip dessert. That counts for something, right?

What about you? Visit Shannon and discuss!

I Need More Time!

I want to spend quality time with my girls.

I want to blog.

I want to read.

I want to take pictures.

I want to watch TV.

I want to take a nap.

I want to do fun things.

Everyday.

I have to work.

I have to help with homework.

I have to do laundry.

I have to cook.

I have to clean house.

I have to do dishes.

I have to run errands.

Everyday.

There is just not enough time in my day!

Table Topics Tuesday

This week's Table Topics Tuesday's theme is:

What is the best way to spend a rainy day?
Let me start by saying that I am not particularly fond of rain. I mean, who is? I do not like getting out in it and driving in it is a whole new blog post!
Honestly, if it happens on a day when leaving home is not necessary, I like to straighten up my house, play around on the computer, and watch some good 'ole TV. No, nothing really exciting, but just relaxing and listening to it rain, knowing that I have a warm, dry place to stay is calming.
Rain is in the forecast now until tomorrow. Going to work in it is so much fun! Can you just feel the sarcasm??

So what do you like to do when it's raining??

Table Topics Tuesday

Photobucket

This weeks topic for Table Topics Tuesday, hosted by Shannon at Welcome to The Nuthouse is:

what is the last thing you cried about?

Well, I am a relatively 'weepy' person. It does not always take much to turn on the water works for me.

These past few days have been no exception. My oldest daughter became a teen this past weekend and I have choked up quite a few times. Not to mention, when I took out the old home videos of her birth and relived that too! Yep, I have been quite the crybaby lately....

So what is the last thing YOU cried about?? Let me know in the comments, please and head on over to Shannon's place to play along, if you'd like~
