All My Loot

Well, I just had to do a Christmas post. No pics yet because I am blogging from work. I know, I know...easy shmeezy job.

So I got my PURPLE iPOD!!! Yes! Mr. Sweetie did good, oh yes he did! I loaded up all of my 80's Cd's and it rocks. Hence my previous post......

My girls got me a digital photo frame. Well, it is supposed to be from them, but my ex showed up with it and had them give it to me. I guess he's not so bad after all...
Plus, I've wanted one but never wanted to pay the big bucks for one, and since he owes me an eternity of butt kissing, it's all good....

Oh and I got some moolah! Yeah, never can go wrong with that. Thanks Dad!

My Dad's Lady Friend gave me this.......

Do you think she wants me to love her? Well, she's a sweetie and I just can NOT wait to make me some fruit smoothies, margaritas, you name it. Feel free to pass on any recipes you may have, I'll take them all.
So all in all, we had a wonderful Christmas. The girls were thrilled with their Nintendo DS games...I knew they would be since that is all I have heard since LAST Christmas.
Time to get some work done now. So spill. What did YOU get??

Wordful Wednesday

This is my first time participating in Wordful Wednesday.

This is me. This is what Mr. Sweetie gets for constantly pointing a camera in my face.
We took the kids to the park a few weeks ago, and he followed me around waiting for me to smile.
This is what he got instead.
Me. At my finest!
Wanna play along or check out more photos? Go here:

My Mind Is Made Up

I hired my sisters' husbands' brothers' daughter (got that?) to babysit for me while school is out for the holidays.

She just turned 14.

She has her own cellphone.

Her bill this month was over $600.

Note to self : Never allow daughters to have a cell phone until they have jobs of their own!!

So Sad...

I have followed the story of Caylee Anthony since it first came out, and was very sad to hear that the DNA has been confirmed as hers. I just don't understand how anyone could hurt a child. I found this picture and wanted to post it in honor of her. May she rest in peace.

Fourth Folder Foto

Trish tagged me with a photo meme. Go to your pictures, choose the 4th folder and the 4th picture. So this is mine:

This is a little tree that resides on the side of my driveway and every spring, these pretty little flowers bloom. I really like them, but they don't usually stick around very long. Anyway, I took a photo of them last year, just playing around with my camera, and it just so happens that this was in my 4th folder.
So I am tagging:

Wandering Weather Forecast

Last week we had snow. First time in umpteen years, it was nice. And cold.
Snow lasted all of 7-ish hours and 16 minutes. Fun, while it lasted.
This week it rained. It was cold. Like really cold.
Today. Foggy. Misty. Hot. Muggy.
Yuck!

One Thing Leads To Another

Chelsea lost a tooth last night. The dentist had told her just last week that if she didn't lose it by the first of the year, he would have to pull it. Crisis averted.

So keeping with tradition, she put it under her pillow. And I, staying true to my motherly duties, placed a dollar bill there after taking the tooth away. When everyone was up the questions began.

"Mom, is there really a tooth fairy?" Now this came from Alyssa, who is my nosey, more questionable child. So, I caved. I told the truth. "No, I put the money there, the tooth fairy is just a fantasy."

So then of course, the inevitable question arose. "Mom is there really a Santa Claus?"

Now keep in mind, my girls are almost 12 and almost 9. I can't keep it from them forever. My answer was plain and simple.

" I am the one who buys those gifts and I shop for them, and I put them under the tree. But you have to realize that there are kids younger than you that believe what you used to believe, so please don't ruin it for them."

Alyssa was very fine with that answer and agreed not to spill the beans to the younger kids. But then she said ......

" I am glad it's you that buys the presents, but I still wanna believe in Santa."

That is fine with me.

Christmas Memories

Last night I was watching part of the Santa Clause movie with Alyssa. It was the part where he gives grown people gifts that they had once asked for or loved as a child. It reminded me of something my sister would ask for every year.

A Snoopy Sno Cone Machine.

When we were small children and Christmas time rolled around the inevitable question always arose. What do you want for Christmas? Her answer was always a Snoopy Sno Cone Machine. And every year she did not get one.
A good 12 years ago or so, I was in a Toys R Us and I happened to come across one. Even though we were both grown and married, I couldn't resist.
I bought my sister a Snoopy Sno Cone Machine. Yes, I did.
And yes, she played with it.

Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,

I've been a really good girl this year, so if you could find it in your heart to bring me a few 'toys' this Christmas, I'd be deeply appreciative!

This is what I really really want, and it could very well already be under my tree. The reason being, Mr. Sweetie got me something and it sits under the tree calling and beckoning for me to go over and shake it. But I won't because I like surprises. Really, I do. So maybe, just maybe, it could be one of these :

Oh, I want the purple one. Because they don't come in red. I'll take the black if you happen to be out of purple......carrying on.......

Now I know I already have a camera, but these are way cool, so I'd take one of these. I mean, I love photography, so I can't have too many. Not to mention the fact that Ashton Kutcher endorses these.......

Now I know that I am going out on a limb here, and I do have a vehicle already. It's paid for and everything, so I should be happy with that, right? Well, these are so awesome, not to mention beautiful, that I admire them every time I come upon one. So, if you could just find it in your nice little chubby heart to park one of these nice doozies in my driveway Christmas morn, I'd be highly excited!The color in the picture is just fine, but if you don't have that one, I'll take a dark blue, or black. I'm not too picky.

Since I am getting a little extravagant, I will go the extra mile and ask for one more nice item. It will fit nicely under my tree, or you could just hide it in my closet and I'll take it out to 'play' when the need arises.....

Ahem, minus the little facial scruff if you don't mind there. Just sayin'

Sincerely,

The most deserving, never asks for much, not particular gift receiver on your Christmas Eve route.

SNOW!?!?!

We live in Louisiana. It never. ever. NEVER. snows here! But it did TODAY!!!
The girls are so excited! This is the first time they have ever seen it. For real.
We occasionally get snow flurries, but nothing that ever sits on the ground.
This was way cool.

The girls outside by my van, covered in snow.

My front yard, after Mr. Sweetie left in his truck, you can see where it was.

My van actually had a blanket of snow on it. Wow!
We won't forget this day for a long time!

Pac-Man Fever

I remember one of the greatest Christmas gifts I received as a kid:
My sister and I played our Atari constantly! My thumb was in great shape, working that there joystick. That is what gets me about todays video game systems. No joystick. I was good at it, I can't seem to maneuver those newer kinds of controls. But anyway.....

We played games such as Frogger, Donkey Kong, Pong, and my all-time favorite game PAC-MAN!

Pac-man was my addiction. I was so addicted at one time, that I would steal quarters from my mom and go down a few blocks to the closest convenience store just to play pac-man on their arcade game. Then we got an Atari. I guess my mom was tired of never having any change left in her purse.

Turn up your speakers and listen to this.
Boy does it bring back memories......

I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you that commented on my last post or those who emailed me privately. YOU don't know how much all your comments, kind words and prayers mean to me.
Chelsea and I worked together on school work until almost bedtime last night and she even said it was "kinda fun" . SO hopefully if we can make it fun and interesting, things will go our way.

My Aching Heart

The only words that I can use to describe myself right now are:

Sad
Heartbroken
Worried
Confused

My daughter is having a hard time in school. Her grades are not good.

And she does.not.care.

However, I care! A lot.

I don't want her to fail. She can't fail. I have talked to a teacher and she says that she doesn't pay attention. I know that.

Last year Chelsea was on meds for this. They seemed to help somewhat. SO back to that we go. I didn't want to. But I will.

I want to help her anyway that I can, so "ME" time in the evenings will be gone. But that is ok. We have lots to do.

A Fun Meme & Award

I would like to thank Therese at The Musings of a Mom for tagging me with this meme.

These are the rules: Pass this on to 5 blogging friends. Open the closest book to you, not your favorite or most intellectual book, but the book closest to you at the moment, to page 56. Write the 5th sentence, as well as two to five sentences following that.

My book is THE REBEL HOUSEWIFE and on page 56, the 5th sentence reads.......

I cherished each time I could use my mommy-magic to kiss a boo-boo and make it all better. I loved seeing his little face light up when he saw me every morning, and I treasured all those precious little boy hugs and kisses.

And I pass the meme onto:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've also been given an award........
Mammarazzi @ Dandelion Wishes gave me this baby........
Thank you sweety!! (her blog is a fun one, so check her out for sure !)
Holiday Shopping
Well I survived my annual Black Friday jaunt once again this year. I love to shop and being there with the crowd does not bother me in the least. In fact I love it! Shopping is my thing.
I may or may not have bought a couple of these babies:
One in black and one in pink. But shhhhh! It's a secret. They were on the list last year but me being the bargain hunter I am, I had a strategy. I just knew if I held out one more year they'd be at least half price by now.
Not!
They are the same price EVERYwhere, but that's ok. They are ALL that my little darlings asked for, so that is what they shall receive. Along with one game each and some other little goodies here and there.
So, Nintendo, if you put your little 'toys' on sale now that I have given in to your extremely high price, you will have hell to pay.
Happy Thanksgiving
See ya!
Photography and My Pride & Joy
As a young girl, back in the days of elementary school, 4-H and such, I always wanted to be a photographer. It was a dream of mine.
How nice would it be to go to work everyday and take pictures? Well, that dream never came true, but I still enjoy photography very much and sadly, I don't get around to it as much as I would love to.
This past weekend, my girls and I went to a couple of parks and took some photos. I wanted to get a good one for our Christmas card and get some that I could frame. We had a great time and they really loved coming up with their own poses.
Alyssa Age 8 going on 16
Chelsea age 11
This one is going to be on the Christmas card! My favorite!
I love my girls and they are growing up SO fast!
Just call me a proud mama!
Twilight Review
I don't really have much to say in the way of a review for Twilight.
It was awesome. I loved it and I wouldn't change a thing. At. All.
I took my girls with me to see it and they are in love with the movie, with Edward and everything about it. These were some of their comments:
When it comes out on DVD, can we get it?
Oh Edward is so cute!
This is the best movie ever, even better than High School Musical III
Needless to say, they loved everything about it and wanted to go back and watch it again the same day. Too funny.
I know that a lot of people did not care for it because it was different than the book. I didn't have a problem with that. I have read lots of books that became movies, and I always pretty much like the movie better. The book had lots of detail and I have a very active imagination, so I really don't need all of the detail, personally.
I also read a few reviews about the parts with Jacob being left out or cut short and I had no problem with that either. Personally I thought those were somewhat boring in the book.
All of the vampires were casted well and I truly enjoyed it.
Now when does the DVD go on sale?
What Is Yet To Come...and What Is Not
Let me start first by saying....There will be no video up on here of me snoring. Not! That baby will be deleted, I am sure of it.
Google/blogger is giving me fits at work, and I can't do anything. Seriously. I try to leave comments, it dies on me. Over and over again. I give up. I am going to be behind on posts and comments until the weekend.
Going to see TWILIGHT tomorrow. I can not wait! I know it is going to be great! A review to follow.
Also, taking my girls for a photo-taking session this weekend. Photos coming soon.
Girls will be at their dads over the Thanksgiving Holiday week. Yahoo! Party at my house. BYOB! I personally love Margaritas......
Is My Face Red?
I guess you could say that Mr. Sweetie and I live together. His house is located approximately 100 miles or so from mine. He works about 25-30 miles from my home and about 70 miles from his. So all week long we get to be together every evening. It's almost like being married again, but not really. Until he pulled this little fiasco.
Two nights ago I fell asleep before he did. I was tired. And I sleep hard, feel safe with him there, and pass out before him the majority of the time. On this particular night I must have been really really tired. I snored. He recorded me!
Yes, you read that correctly, he took his cell phone and made a video of me...SNORING! I am so ashamed. But it was funny. You can barely see me, it's dark except for the light of the television and you can barely hear it, but it's there...the zzzzz.
I only had a few words for him....Revenge is sweet!
Didn't I Finish School Already?
My 6th grader has to do a science project. Well, I guess you could say I have to do a science project. I thought when I graduated from high school I would be done with this type thing.
Honestly, when I was in school, it was not mandatory to do any sort of project for the science/social studies fairs we had. They were just for bonus points. So I didn't do them. I didn't have anyone to help me do them. Why am I being punished now?
The thing is, the fair is not until February, but we have to choose a topic by Thursday. Well no, let me re-phrase that. We choose two topics and what category they fall under (botany, chemistry, microbiology, etc.) and then the teacher lets us know which one we will do. My question is this: why the heck dontcha just tell us what you want us to do, to begin with?
So now I sit here, instead of reading/commenting/blogging, and I am searching for science fair project topics. Something is wrong with this scenario. OH and to top it off....this is what is on the paper with the info, and I quote "In order to qualify for the regional science fair an experiment has to be done. Just doing a report, building a model or doing a demonstration will no be sufficient to advance in the competition." WTF? Who said we even wanted to compete?!?!
These teachers know that it's the parents that do these things, not the kids. I know that for a fact. And I work....miss teacher who thinks I have time for this.
Thankfully I only have two children. When they graduate from high school, I will have 3 educations. Mine and theirs. Cross your fingers that I make an A on my, I mean her, project.
Calgon Take Me Away
Let us start at the beginning, shall we?
I get up early, just like I always do on a typical week day so as to have myself in order before I wake the kiddos. Everything goes smoothly.
Until the monsters rise and I get this:
A child who won't eat the grits I fixed her because they are too hot and now she wants something else. Note to child: I am not a short-order cook!
Spilled mild. All over the carpet. Previously mentioned child is the culprit and just stands there with jaw agape while I holler and milk seeps deeper and deeper into said carpet. Note to child: Have I not mentioned 10 million times that food/drink is not allowed in the living room? It is for this specific reason, dear!
Oldest child can not find the hairbrush. It's my fault. Everything is my fault. Note to child: Have I not told you I never ever never use said brush, you are the last one who used it, look for it, that is why God gave you eyes.
Trying to pay a bill online...payment will not go thru. Dammit! We are late. Note to self: Next time you change your account because someone steals your debit card number, change all accounts in which this will be effected so as not to encounter this situation again.
Late leaving now. POURING DOWN RAINING!! Note to self: Juggling an umbrella, purse, and trying to cover child with umbrella at the same time will not keep your feet dry. Did I mention I don't have a carport?
Yes, we all made it to our destinations in one piece and safely.
Thankfully, my girls will be with their dad this weekend and I have a break. With Mr. Sweetie. Thank Goodness.
Let it be known that blogger is now on my shitlist, because I uploaded all sorts of cute photos to go along with my little captions but they all disappeared. TGIF!
Another One Of My Loves...
Most of you know all about my love for My Fave RockStar but he is not my only dream, just my number one since my pre-teen years.
Two years ago when I first began a new journey in life called Divorce, I decided I needed some new and different experiences. Music being something I absolutely could never live without, I discovered this man:
His music, the lyrics, the 'feel' of his songs, just healed me in so many ways. Yes, he is so delish to look at, but it's all about the music. Seriously. Oh heck, who am I kidding, I lust for the man.
Can you believe I missed this last night?.........Enjoy
Gore Galore
Friday night, Mr. Sweetie and I went to see this:
SAW V Pictures, Images and Photos
It was awesome. I love horror movies. This one was not really what I would call 'scary' as much as totally gross, but somehow I still loved it. That's just how I roll.
Watching the previews made me really ecstatic, because I was informed that one of my all-time fave movies is being RE-MADE!!............
friday the 13th Pictures, Images and Photos
Oh yes! Jason is BACK BABY! Woohoo, I can not wait.
And then the anticipation for this is really killing me too...just 10 days, my peeps!
Twilight Pictures, Images and Photos
Can I get a hell yeah? 'Nuf said.
Have A Great Veterans Day
A few weeks ago, the Vietnam Wall came to a nearby city and I thought it would be an awesome experience for my girls and I to see it. I took several photos, and I wanted to share them on the most fitting of days, Veteran's Day:
It was really neat to see how the process works. If you know someone who served at the time, you can have their name looked up in the database and you are given a sheet of paper with the number for the section in which it is located. Once you find the name, there is a space that you can shade it in with a pencil and keep it as a souvenir.
Whether you know someone who is a veteran or someone that is serving now, and even if you don't. Take this time to honor them. I will.
Cute Wedding Dance
I received this video in an email today. I loved it. I laughed and I cried. I truly believe that if all couples had this sort of fun together, their marriage would last forever.......
Timing is Everything
I started watching something new on Netflix. I heart it. Very much.
This would be it:
As I watched this last night, I started to think and realized a lot of things.
One being that, my dad was in the Army before I was born. He chose not to continue after a few years of service and he and my mom settled here in the town where I have lived my whole life.
What I have pondered is this. What if he would have decided to stay in the military and pursue a career of it? Where would I be today? Would I be the same person I am today? Would I even exist at all?
I have always been a firm believer in the phrase "everything happens for a reason". I've seen it, experienced it, and lived it many times.
So now, I believe that our new president was meant to be the one chosen. Regardless of whether I voted for him or not. I am not a political person. I can't even begin to go into a tangent, nor get up on a soapbox about any of the things having to do with this years election or the people involved. All I know is what I know and that is why I chose to refrain from voicing my opinions here.
My last post seemed to cause a few commenters to really get defensive towards one another and I never intended for that to happen. I also chose not to delete any of it because everyone is entitled to their opinion and I felt that if they wanted to back out and do away with their comments, they could do that on their own.
I am not 'here' to speak of anything political. Regardless of anything I know, or don't know. I do not feel educated enough in the matter to do so. I just posted a blog titled "No Comment" because that is what I was thinking and feeling at that particular moment.
I agree with everyone who has said that we have to UNITE and stand together and behind our leader. I know that GOD will lead us to where we need to be always. First and foremost.
Tidbits on Tuesday
I got this in the mail yesterday:
I installed it today and I have played around with it somewhat. I do have a lot to learn, so hopefully soon I will have something to show you.
It was nice to have a day off today. I voted. I hope everyone of you did also. I am anxious to see what the outcome is.
I found out today that the latest BACHELORETTE has broken up with the man she chose. Jesse. I wanted her to pick Jason, but she chose the underdog. Does anyone in this world stay together anymore?
As you can tell I am in somewhat of a slump on blogging subjects. Hopefully that doesn't last long.
Change
I believe that I mentioned before that I do not do well with change. Of any kind.
Take for example this Daylight Savings Time. I say leave it the way it was and quit springing me forward and making me fall back. I much rather have daylight at the end of the day than early in the morning.
I am not a political person. Never have been. I couldn't tell you the first thing about Democrat/Republican this or that. However, this year I have been educated well beyond what was ever my intention. I am hoping that it is for the better.
I will be voting tomorrow, I hope you have all made plans to do so also. In my eyes it doesn't matter so much what sort of mudslinging any politician slings, it is the cold hard facts that need to be addressed.
Do what is right. Vote.
Happy Halloweeeeen!
Aren't we just lovely??
We had our Halloween the night before the actual date. Leave it to our town. Anyway, my girls go to a private Catholic school and every year they hold a Halloween Carnival. I find it much more convenient than door-to-door trick-or-treating. They sell tickets and then the kids play games with them and win candy.
This year Alyssa was Sharpay from High School Musical. We didn't get the blonde wig, so she's a brunette and unique Sharpay.
Chelsea was, well don't ask me what she was. She saw the costume, I thought it was decently priced, we agreed, end of story. Let's just say she was a funky dressed girly thingamajiggy.
They had to do their poses. Such camera hams~ That's my girls!
More Awards!
I've been Boo-ed. Happy Halloween to you all. Thanks to Sidney for Boo-ing me.
So I received a couple of awards within the last few days, so I had to post those so as not to be snobbish or anything. Mammarazzi at Dandelion Wishes(don't ya just love her 'name' and her blog name?) gave me this award and I think it's so cute. I definitely am a scibbler. Thanks!
I am passing it on to:
Cara 'cuz she's my twin , so she's gotta have one too!
Scargosun because she's cool and I like her blog...check her out, you will too.
Therese because she has 3 very cute busy little boys, and she still finds time for blogging.
Thennnn, Tena gave me this award:
Thanks so much girly!
I have been working on this post for days and days now and I am just getting around to finishing it.
Halloween pics of the girls to come soon :D
Dear Miss Teena-debit-card-number-stealing-snake-in-the-grass-maybe-not-even-Teena-but-somebody-else Thief,
I GOT MY MONEY BACK............IN YO FACE!!!
You will be caught, sister (or brother) and you will have to PAY!!
Ya see, my bank loves me and they did not even hesitate to PUT MY MONEY RIGHT BACK IN MY ACCOUNT where it belongs!! Paypal WILL find you and have justice served. I will be making sure of that!
Hmmpph!
Sincerely,
Ms. Hard-working-honest-single-mom-who-saves-money-not-to-give-it-away-to-thieves-who-will-kick-yo-a$$-if-you-mess-with-me-or-my-money-again
******************
That is correct my friends! I got my money back, lesson learned. The only thing is I have no way of knowing how or where this person got their hands on my debit card number.
The lady at the bank told me that you can go to a place of business (such as Target) and use your debit card and then someone can hack into their online account and retrieve all of the debit card numbers and use them however they want. Sad, but true.
I have a new debit card on the way!
The Nerve!
I don't know if it's how some people are raised or if it's just in their nature. To do wrong. To steal from others. To go against the law. To hurt people.
Today I went to the ATM, which I have not used in quite awhile. As I retrieved my receipt, I noticed my account balance seemed way off. Not over off, under off. I had a WTF moment.
I got back to work and I immediately pulled up my account online. Lo and behold. A paypal debit from my account for $478 !!! Double WTF moment.
I then went to my paypal account to see what was going on and in my confusion, noticed that there were no recent transactions. I am still WTF-ing at this moment. Surprisingly, I stayed calm. That. is. so. not. me!!
When I got home from work I called the number from the verification email I received after changing my password. The lady says she doesn't see any transaction either. She asks for my debit card number and I give it to her, all the while cringing and praying she wasn't a thief out to get me also!
It seems some woman by the name of TEENA somebody or other, stole my debit card number somehow and opened a paypal account and bought her happy little @$$ something nice as a gift from me.
I have to call my bank and report my debit card stolen.
Look out TEENA whoever you are. You are gonna get it!! You are going down sister!!
How To Make A Mom Proud
My baby participated in a school sponsored cheerleading camp this month. One of things they learned was a dance. She is the one in shorts, long dark straight hair, shaking her groove thang :D
That's my girl!
How Old Will I Live To Be?
I found this post from Mama's Losin It and she has a link up for a Life Expectancy calculator. Of course, I had to see what it said about me:
If you continue maintaining healthy habits, you'll want to plan for a maximum life expectancy of 94 years or more.Your "ideal" weight for maximum longevity is: 151 lbs.
The three biggest positive factors that you have going for you are: 1. Age 2. Gender 3. Age of parents
The three biggest negative factors that you have going for you are: 1. Family health 2. Personality type 3. Exercise
Wow! I would love to live a long life, as long as I can still get around and be self-sufficient. Let's hope!
So, what does it say about you?
Netflix Junkie
It has been two years now and my love affair with Netflix lives on. I am so loving it.
If you are not familiar with it, Netflix is a very affordable avenue in which you can rent movies and have them delivered straight to your mailbox. You can sign up on their website, the fee is deducted money from your checking account and you have a place where you can add and remove DVD's that you want to watch.
I have watched many shows that I never had the opportunity to view when they originally aired. It's been great and it's so convenient and very affordable.
As of right now I have been watching Jon and Kate plus 8:
I have to say I truly admire these two parents for everything they deal with on a daily basis. The tears, the tantrums, the meals they prepare, the outings they are brave enough to embark on, the list goes on and on. I can barely get through a day sometimes with only 2!
Books and Games
As I read different blogs (and I read lots of them!) I have found that many of you out there love to read books and so do I. When I have time. Which lately is never. *sob sob* !
So I wanted to share what I find to be some really awesome books by an author that has talent beyond any other. Karen Kingsbury writes what her website describes as Life-changing fiction.
Never before has an author written a book that has moved me to tears like the stories Ms. Kingsbury creates. I highly recommend not any one particular book, but every darn one of them. You can find out about all of the here at her website.
I recently played the whole darn game "James Patterson, Women's Murder Club, Death In Scarlett". Online. For free. At work. This game can be found at various different sites for one hour of free download. Once your hour is up, you can move on to another site and download it and pick up where you left off. I played it all the way through to the end. Not all in one day, mind you, but still. It was fun. I was hooked until the very end. So, if you like computer games, this is one you are sure to love.
If you have read any of the above mentioned books or played this fun fun game, give me a holla and tell me your thoughts! :D
