*Burp*

I never gave much thought to my health. As long as I felt fine, then I saw no reason to be concerned. Most people live that way, I guess. However, it's important to pay close attention to what your body is telling you sometimes.

Lately, it seems, several people in this community have died at a very early age. Very early age, meaning close to my age. That makes me quite uncomfortable. And a little, well a lot, worried!

It has been well over six months since I have had my gallbladder removed, and after that was done, I felt much better. Until about a month ago. I went back to the doctor with complaints of constant burping/indigestion. Same thing that my stone-filled gallbladder was doing to me. He gave me some medicine and sent me on my way. It is not working. In fact, it seems as though it has gotten much worse and I am at my wits end.

Last week I had an appointment, and because I absolutely despise going to the doctor, and because I felt fine that day, and because I am totally nuts, I cancelled! How dumb, right? I called yesterday to reschedule and now I can not get in until next week. Serves me right, I guess.

So anyway, I am hoping and praying that it is nothing serious. The doctor did say that if it did not work, he'd have to go back in with a scope (down my throat) and see what's up. Since it was not so bad the last time, and because I am desperate to end this misery, I guess I have no choice.

It is the wait that is bugging me now.

Monday Evening Soak in the Tub

I took a bubble bath tonight, with some Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy, Lavendar and Chamomille. So nice.

As I sat back and relaxed for all of about 3 to 4 minutes, just enough time to inhale the aroma and relax for a few, I took the time to reflect on what I am thankful for.

My kids chattering in the other room. The few minutes I had to relax alone. The roof over my head, sheltering me from the elements. And so much more.

The little things, I think, are what make me happiest and fill my days with gratitude.

No doubt, there is so much more that I would love to have in life, but for now, I want to be able to enjoy what I do have and appreciate it.

Everyday.

Forty minus twenty equals 20

It has been awhile. I have not felt so great lately. Not really sure what is going on, but from what I can gather (from google, anyway) I may be in the beginning stages of menopause. Lovely!

Some weeks ago, it all started with a little fluttering in my heart. Now, I have had that happen before over the course of my life, but nothing to worry about. Basically, it would flutter and then go on beating. Thankfully!

This time though, it was often and on a regular basis. I went to the doctor. Twice! First time around, he gave me some medicine for my stomach. I was having a constant burping. Very irritating, to say the least. However, by the end of that same week, I went back. This time, insisting he check my heart. Which he did. An EKG came back just fine. So, for the next step, he gave me an anti-depressant. For anxiety, mind you. Whatever you say, doc!

I began to take those and I felt like a zombie, really. Not a fan of that one bit. Within a couple days, the hot flashes started. Wow! I quit taking the anti-depressants because again, not a fan of the flying high feel. Not only did I start to feel better, but the heart fluttering subsided. Yet those darn hot flashes really baffled me, so me and my friend Google went on a search and we came up with the pre-menopause diagnosis. I made an appointment with my OB-GYN. She told me she really believes that is what it is. Hot flashes, irregular periods, fluttering heart beat, mood swings. Yep, that describes me!

So hopefully I will survive this, since I would think I am only in the beginning and have a long way to go until relief. The hot flashes have subsided some, but I guess according to what my ovaries are doing down there, those will come and go as they feel the need.

I want to be 20 again!!

Reading......

I have had my nose in this lately.....

Well, only since yesterday evening, but still. My nose will be there for a while, you can be sure of it!
What an awesome book so far!
Even if you are not a Rick fan, and why the heck would you not be? It's a great read.
I know that some people enjoy reading autobiographies, so this one comes highly recommended by me!
Definitely!

Volleyball

Volleyball season is well underway and my baby is kicking butt and taking names. Well, maybe not so much, but she is doing really well, considering I am her mother. Me. Miss Non-Athletic!

She is very into the game and serious about playing. I am so proud of that!

She gives it all she's got!
And never fails to sock it to 'em!
Go, Alyssa!

Toys!

I bought myself a new toy! You want to see it? Then by all means, go see it here!

Another cool toy I received lately was a DVR! Old to some people, but since I live in the sticks, getting one was quite an excitement for me since my cable company finally decided to offer one in my area.

New TV season, I am ready for you!

Crazy Busy!

My life has been busy, busy, busy lately! So much to do and not enough time to do it all. Seriously, I crave some ME time and some DOWN time a lot and strive to get it more than you know!

This week, my schedule looks like this:

Monday: I work 8-4:30...and that is M-F every week.
Volleyball game at 5:00pm, I work concession stand from 5:30 to 6:30.
Then it's time to go home and eat, bathe, homework, laundry, dishes...yea!

Tuesday: Volleyball game at 5:30...out of town...45 minute drive to and from...we won!
Arrive home at 7:30pm and let all the above fun begin again!

Wednesday: (today) Orthodontist appt. at 9:40 am for Alyssa and then on my lunch break, I
bring my van in to get the fan for the air conditioner looked at. It only blows on
the highest setting right now. Not good. No practice, no game today...just home to
cook, do laundry, homework, dishes, etc. etc.

Thursday: Volleyball practice at 4:00 and then home to do the usual.

Friday: Work work work!

Weekend: Rest! I insist!

I'm tired!
