R.I.P. MJ
As a young girl, I loved music just as much as I still do to this day. Michael Jackson was one of my favorites, and my sister and I would dance and sing to his Thriller album for hours at a time. I was very saddened to hear about his death and watching this short video brought a tear to my eye and a chill to my bones.
I love love love this:
May you rest in peace, Michael.

Writer's Workshop: Create a Help Wanted Ad
All applicants must possess great domestic skills and be willing to work around the clock.
First up, morning routine. Breakfast must be ready by 7:30 am sharp. Menu depends on what my ungrateful, unusually grouchy in the morning daughters decide they want on said day.
Breakfast dishes must be washed and left to dry as soon as everyone is done eating. Clean up may then ensue for the remainder of kitchen area.
Make sure everything is straightened and cleaned up and turned off before everyone leaves for the day. Kids must have clothes on, teeth and hair brushed and matching shoes when leaving the house.
During the lunch hour, rush to the supermarket to grab whatever staples are needed for a few days, or however long they will last after above mentioned daughters eat as much of it as possible in the shortest amount of time. Gobble own lunch.
After work, have dinner cooked and ready for approximately 6pm-ish. Have everyone bathe soon thereafter so that laundry may get done in a timely manner. Two loads. Every. Single. Day. At least.
Wash dishes, clean up kitchen, straighten up living room, put out trash and sweep again for the 933rd time that day. Once above mentioned laundry is dried, fold and put away.
Discipline children (endlessly) and break up any arguments, disagreements, etc that may occur.
Have children finish any last minute snacks that they just can not live without because they are starving after all of the snacks and meals that they had throughout the day. Teeth must be brushed and everyone tucked in to bed by 9pm.
Answer or complete 552 emails, update Myspace, Facebook and Twitter, read 78 blog posts and create one (or two) of your own.
Try to watch at least 30 minutes to an hour of your favorite TV shows without being interrupted 246 times.
Pay bills that you thought you just paid 4 weeks prior to the one they just sent in the mail and balance checkbook without cringing.
Satisfy the man in your life now that everything else is done and you are exhausted: optional
Go to bed. Repeat every day, give or take a chore or two.
Salary: Zilch!

My Close Encounter with Fame
Jen over at Daily Mish Mash is hosting a Close Encounters of the Celebrity Kind from June 22-26. All you have to do is write a post about your experience (with pictures, if you have them)and visit her and link up!
When I read about this, I just knew I had to share all about my celebrity encounter, which I guess was not exactly by accident, since I planned it. And paid for it. More than once!
The first time that I met the one and only Mr. Springfield.....yeah, that is Springfield, was back in 2005. A show was scheduled to be within 45 minutes of where I live, so there was no question that I would be there!
Then came the email. The one that said for a small portion of my life savings, I could meet the man of my dreams. The one and only Rick Springfield! If I wanted to attend a sound check (where Rick and the band get everything set for that nights show, etc.) I could watch that and get autographs, a photo and a chance to speak with him. Now most people would probably think that I whipped out my credit card and purchased a sound check package on the spot. Those people would be wrong.
I got really nervous and literally sick to my stomach. I had waited my whole life for this, but I was scared to death. I had to call my best friend and have her actually talk me into it. Needless to say, it did not take much convincing on her part. I spent the money and the worrying began.
What to wear? What would I say? Should I bring a gift? What was going to happen? What if I was sick? What if he didn't like me? I was a basket case!
Finally the day arrived and I had every little detail in order, or so I thought. I had what I wanted him to autograph and I think that I know what I wanted to ask him. I just hoped that I would not stutter or say something stupid, because I am famous for that.
When we arrived at the venue for the sound check and were finally seated, I literally felt like I was going to hurl at any given moment. As the seconds ticked on, I really needed to puke. Finally, the moment of truth arrived and Rick walked out on stage. From that exact moment on, it was like a cloud lifted, my nausea left me and I felt a calmness come over me. My rock god was standing within feet of me and I was about to be able to speak to him, touch him and have my photo taken with him. Dear Lord!
Whatever it was that I had planned to say to him or ask him flew right out of the window. I was in awe of how humble and down to earth he was and so so so sweet. As I stood there in his arms and he held me close to him to take a photo, I thought I would die! This is one of the photos that came from that night:

That literally did it in for me. After meeting Rick once, I knew that if the chance ever came about again, I would definitely do it once more. Little did I know that I would get the opportunity a few more times.

My Trip (The End)
Carrying on with the tail end of my trip..
THURSDAY: We had a coupon to this water park, so we planned to take the girls for the afternoon
Despite all of that, we spent about 3 hours there, until the park closed, but it's not the best water park I ever visited. It had tons of shade, which I loved, but most of the rides were all right on top of each other and the stairs.... I was tired just from going up and down the stairs being a paranoid mother wondering how many people would fall on them running around on them with wet feet!
FRIDAY: On our final day in Florida, we decided to skip the last classes of the conference. No problem there for me. We spent hours shopping for souvenirs, ate lunch at the condo and the girls spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. I went shopping at an outlet mall nearby and my intention was to get a purse. Well, me being the conservative spender that I am, I decided not to spend $150 on a purse that was originally priced around $300 or so. Nope, not my idea of 'outlet' prices.
Later that evening we went to a restaurant called the Crab Trap. Very nice place. We ate out on the deck and the seafood was delish!
For our last evening, I had to spend it on the beach. I knew it would be a while before we'd get the chance to do it again, so until after dark, we frolicked on the beach and enjoyed it immensely!
See you in 2011!I will be posting more pics on my Photoblog!

My Trip (Part Two)
So we arrived in Destin on Saturday evening and after lots of oohing and aahing over our room and the view, we headed out to the beach for some more oohing and aahing. Later we got settled in our room and looked forward to the week ahead:
SUNDAY: We pretty much kicked it at the hotel most of this day. The girls would have lived in that pool every single day if I had let them. Even more so than the beach, which was my favorite spot.
Monday : This was my first day of the conference, so I set out with the clerk of our court to the hotel in which it was held. We had breakfast there and it was really nice. Boring, but nice. I think we were done that first day around 11am-ish. Notice I said we were done, I think the actual conference had some more to it for that day, but we scooted on out.
My Sweetie and the husband of the girl I work with went out and rented some jet ski's to play around on, while we stayed behind and played by the pool.
That evening we headed over to The Baytowne Wharf
I had heard about it and researched what they had going on there before we arrived, so we were looking forward to it. It's basically a small secluded village that has restaurants and shops and many activities nightly and very family oriented. We enjoyed ourselves there on Monday night...not so much on Tuesday evening, and I'll explain that in a little bit.
As we were heading back to our rooms that night, I received a call from my sister. My grandmother passed away that day. I was shocked and confused as to what to do. As it turns out, my dad did not want me to return home and to stay out there and finish up what I had to do for my job. I really hated to miss the funeral, as she was my last surviving grandparent, but everyone assured me it would be alright. Although we were not real close, she was the one of the sweetest persons that I ever knew and I will miss her.
For this day, we had made plans to go and visit the Gulfarium and see the dolphin, sea otter and various sea creature shows. The girls really enjoyed this outing and it was great to see something of this nature in person.

Later on Tuesday evening, we had plans to go back to The Baytowne Wharf to see the fireworks display. This night was very different than the night before. The valet parking was full, so we had to park and take a bus to the village. Once we got there, the place was packed and the girls were tired. We waited for a good hour for the fireworks and I kid you not, if they lasted five minutes that is all they lasted. Seriously, I was disappointed, but that was just about the only thing from the whole week that was not all we envisioned it to be.

WEDNESDAY: We actually did not have much of anything planned for this day because as one conference was ending, we had another one that was starting, so our day was to be filled with meetings. As it turned out, we only stayed for an hour for the one that was just beginning, which was a good thing. That reason being, I had a certain something or other that required me to remain sitting on a certain porcelain type chair and when that urge to sit on it came, it was calling right now. If you get my drift.

Chelsea would not even attempt to say the name, in fear of pronouncing it wrong, which I did once and was very embarrassed. The place had a one man band, alligator shows and videos playing on big screen plasma TVs.

We arrived back to our room rather late on this evening, so we did not get to do the beach stint that I loved. There is nothing like the sand between your toes and the fresh air blowing through your hair.
After I medicated myself and started to feel much better, we decided to head out to dinner and we went to this place:
