You had us all fooled, me especially!
The heartburn, the indigestion and chest pains. The constant burping and back aches.
I thought it was an ulcer. Or acid reflux. So did my doctor.
The doctor ordered a scope....that funky thing that goes down your throat and looks around inside the stomach, whom lives near you, and checks to see what is wrong. Well, he found nothing wrong, so he ordered an ultrasound. Of you!
The technician who did my ultrasound gave me a real scare, again because of you, because she was not expecting anything to be wrong with you. Not with the symptoms I was describing, anyway. Until she placed that wand over my belly and gasped, "Oh my God, you are full of stones!" Before she said 'stones', I just want you to know that I almost had a heart attack because I thought she was going to say 'cancer'....yes, that is just how my brain works...it overreacts!
So guess what, Mr. Gallbladder full of stones!! You are coming out! That is right. Next week I have an appointment with a surgeon and he is going to rid me of my pain. Free me of my misery. Take away my problems...well, maybe not all of them, but you! The main problem in my life right now!
Until then, I suffer. Enjoy your time inside of me, however long or short that may be.
Good riddance, and the sooner, the better!
Painfully and miserably,
Me

Good luck! I hope your relief is swift!
A proper diagnosis is always a relief. I'm glad they were able to figure it out finally. Good luck with everything!
Yikes... gallbladder stones does not sound fun! Glad you figured out what it was, and you'll be rid of your pain soon!
Oh, boy does this bring back memories!
My story is similar... heartburn, aching between my shoulder blades. I suffered for awhile before finally seeing a dr. Went to a walk-in clinic on a Monday; doc said it was acid reflux. By Thursday it was so bad, I went to see another dr... who said I had textbook gallbladder disease symptoms. Had an ultrasound first thing Friday morning... even the tech knew it was bad. I had an appt to see a surgeon that day and had my gallbladder removed that night! They were afraid it would bust (that's a pretty picture, isn't it?)... luckily the surgeon was able to do everything laproscopically, but did say he had to make the incision bigger to get the gallbladder out because it was so inflamed and infected.
And now I've given you my complete medical history in one comment. You're welcome.
And after all that, I totally forgot to say good luck with your surgery!
So...
Good luck! You will feel LOTS better when it's done!
not fun, but at least there is a solution...
sorry to hear it, Amy. But at least you figured it out. Bye bye gallbladder. Hello feeling better.
I had 2 children and 1 gallbladder attack. I will take labor ANY DAY over the gallbladder attack.
Good luck with the surgery!
i had to have my gallbladder removed a few months after my first son was born, when the ambulance came atook me away from my home- I overheard the driver telling my husband I probably just had a bad case of heartburn, the ER doc even gave me mylanta 3 to stop the "heartburn" but the surgery was pretty painless and a quick recovery so good luck! stopping by from sits, anne

Good luck!
I have had gallbladder pain since I had my first child, and nothing worked! I asked my doctor to take it out but they could never "catch" it acting up on an ultrasound. Sounds like crap to me! 2 years later I still have this thing giving me trouble on occasion.
Stoppin' by from SITS!
Hope you will get a proper treatment as soon as possible and you will feel so much better son. :)
