My Trip (Part One)

I have never been much of a traveler. Not because I didn't want to travel, just because I could never afford it much. When I was still married, our little family took one huge vacation, everything else was usually for just a couple of days and not more than about an hour or so away.

When I started my job back in September, the other 3 women in my office talked about their trip to Destin, FL that they took every other year. A conference for all of Louisiana City Court Clerks. Because there are 4 of us and somebody has to run the place at all times, two clerks go each year, alternating years. When they said that I would be going this year, along with our clerk of court, I was really excited, but nothing could prepare me for how great it would actually be in reality.

I knew that our 'hotel' would be paid, I would get a per diem allowance and mileage. This trip cost me absolutely zero.

So once I got past all of these little surprises, we set out on our trip early Saturday morning. After countless mini heart attacks and hissy fits (by me, because of my dear sweetheart's driving) and whines and complains from the backseat because my precious two daughters were bored, tired, or thirsty, we made it to our destination!

Now, I would have been satisfied to stay in any decent hotel chain on the map. Hell, someone else was paying, so who was I to be choosy? This was no ordinary hotel, it was a freaking condo!!

The kitchen/dining area
The living room

The freakin' jacuzzi tub (that my sweetie just raved about to everyone...heehee!)

The view of our resort from the beach

The view of the beach from our balcony

The view of the pools from our balcony (9th floor)

When Chelsea walked in to our condo, she was taken aback and said, "Whoa! I am never leaving this place!" I could not help but want to agree with her, but I knew we only had 7 days to enjoy it.
To be continued....

VERY nice! I'm especially diggin' the tub. I'm 6'2" so that looks like a tub I'd ACTUALLY be comfortable in.

As for your vocation, I have quite a bit of sympathy. Bein' a NJ lawman, I know 1st hand the "stuff" you've got to deal with.
:~{

Nice blog by the way.
