I choose something, anything to discuss or whatever I may want your input or point of view on, and you comment and let me know. Easy? Easy.
For my first post of "Give Me Your Opinion", I give you this:
How do you feel about this place?
Would you eat here?
Would you be pissed if your man went here without you or wanted to go with you?
Would you approve of your daughter working here one day?
Do you approve of this being a 'family' restaurant?
Lay it on me, tell me what you think. I go first (in the comment section)

First of all, I've never been here, but what I have heard about it is not very appetizing! Yes, Mr. Sweetie went with his boss and some other guys for lunch during work. I am not happy. I don't think that grown men should be sitting around drooling over girls young enough to be their own daughters. He found it to be harmless and said he did not have any bad intentions by going, but his boss is a perv, so that really irritated me.
As for this supposedly being a family restaurant, NOT! I would not ever bring my children into a place where women are exposing themselves to be ogled over and let them think that it's ok to do that in public.
If my daughter wanted to work there, I'd beat her ass.
So, plain and simple, never been there, never plan to go.
What about you?
Ummm, they are said to have really good chicken wings !!! I personally have no idea if they do or not. I agree with you that isn't a family restaurant. I too, would beat my daughters ass if I found she was working there. I would even go so far as to be my sons ass f I ever found him in said location. Now having said that. I have been to a stip joint. Once. Ok I've been to one twice. The 1st time was to have said chicken strips. And I must confess they were the best that I'd ever had. The 2nd was to play pool. So really either time I never even looked at said dancers. Ok well that's not true. I did look at one, only because my friends were all...."check her out she's wasted". I did and it was very sad to see. She was blank and empty inside and just going through the motions. Which were actually walking to each corner of the stage and doing a little turn. Nothing even ever came off. But I just kept thinking how incredibly sad it all was.
Would I send my man in to get said Hooters chicken wings. If they were the best, yes. But they would be a to go order. Maybe like Applebee's curb side to go !!!! :o)~
I have been to a Hooters to eat once, with my husband and it was my idea. I definitely would not consider this to be a family restaurant. I don't feel that it is a huge deal for adults to eat there though. Yes, it is disgusting to see older men drooling over younger waitresses. But men like that probably could drool over a waitress at iHop too if they are that nasty.
If I had a daughter I would not want her to work there.
The food was way overpriced for the quality too.
People give me a hard time about it a lot, but I do not go there nor do I want my husband or kids there. Their speciality is boobs, so I really don't care how good their buffalo wings are. I feel like I have more class and want to set better examples than to go there.
Won't go...ever...with 3 sons, they don't need to see what those waitresses have to offer...
Well... on the one hand... I'm not wild about them. There's about a gazillion places I'd rather go. If Mr. B went.. well...I can't see him going - that's just not his thing, though he LOVES wings.
I wouldn't be thrilled if my daughters worked there...
We don't have any in our area but when I traveled for my job, we were always near a Hooters and it never offended me. I think the girls that work there no what they are getting themselves in for and they have a choice. I have eaten there plenty and always found it good and IF I had a man, I wouldn't particularly care if he ate there with his friends, but if he was going by himself, that would be an issue.
I don't have a daughter so I can't honestly say how I would feel and if my son were over the age of 21, it wouldn't bother me if he went in there, but it is definitely not a family restaurant.
I've been there. The first time I went I was horrified. But. The food is quite good. At least in my experiences. And by good, I mean, greasy, high cholesterol, twice a year goodness. The fried pickles are reaaaaaally good. As are the wings.
When Hubby says "lets to go hooters" I am alllll over that.
And...hey, if the Girl Child were to work there when she was of age...Oh well. A very good friend of mine got herself through college on a Hooters job. And she's a pretty upstanding citizen.
Woah, hot button for me. I truly believe this is not a family place, and it is offensive and objectifying to women.
Before I go full tilt, let me distill my thoughts down to one question.
What if there was a place called Packages or C***s?
Is it still ok then? Sunday dinner with Junior and Grandma?
Me personally it all depends on the quality of the food.I am a food snob ya know... Ofcourse you don't wanna take young ones there...
Would I be mad if hubby went there?
Well again..depends on the food..if it was great..than nah..not so much..if it was crappy, then yeah..because I would know it would be just to look at ta ta's.
But seriously..no I wouldn't want Lily to work there...unless she had a 24/7 hour bodyguard and a chasity belt..
You know, I used to be offended, especially when Hooters started popping up all over the place (no pun intended). But then, my daughter's field hockey team decided it would be funny to go there and see what it's all about. They all got T-shirts, too. So, that became a team tradition. The girls know about the nastiness of objectifying women, and I think they're sort of making fun of the whole concept, since the team has 18 athletic, smart, confident girls. I really think they revel in the irony of the whole situation. BTW, don't forget our Silly Sunday Sweepstakes tomorrow. Come on by and Share the Caption Love!
Blessed be.
Personally I enjoy Hooters. However, I prefer Coyote Ugly better(and I don't mean the movie).
We actually have a 'Coyote Ugly here in Memphis, TN on Beale Street. I love it.
Family resteraunt? No. But then, it isn't supposed to be.
If I had a daughter and she wanted to work at either place I would let her.
I actually like Hooters they have the best Chicken sandwich. It doesnt really bother me if my husband goes there without me, he is a man when he stops looking at boobs then I should be worried lol! Besides My boobs are nicer than those girls (right)! I dont know if I would call it a family place and I would hope that someday my daughter has enough respect for herself to know she does not have to dress like a hoochie to get a good tip.
I used to feel like you do. Then, I visited. With my female cousin. The wings were delish! And we spent most of the time laughing at the ugly girls TRYING to be sexy. Definitely not Hubby's type.
I've been...food wasn't great. I REALLY didn't like the wings...way too breaded for me. Andrew can go, but I don't love the idea, and he knows it. It bothers me with the looking at other women. Not a family restaurant. If my daughter wanted to work there, I'm not sure what I would say, but I'm sure I wouldn't like it. My cousin worked there, she got knocked up by the cook.
I went, I tried it, I'd rather spend my money somewhere else.
Hubby okay. daughter, no way in hell. family restaurant- not even a little bit. I've never been either, and I don't like wings so I have no desire to go.
I have to admit...I do love their wings! It is a choice for these women to work there and if they are happy and not treated like "meat" then it's fine with me. Most of the women seem pretty tough and can handle their own... Again, no one forces them to work there.
My husband goes sometimes and I don't care at all...
Gag! Food is nasty! I've been several times with groups but the food is somewhat overpriced for what it is. Our local wings restaurant is much better, as is Baumhauer's Wings. I think man/husband eating there is fine if it is with a group of men who chose to go there - it's a man thing I guess. But I'd rather he chose another wings place - and he would rather eat at the other wings places. I definitely wouldn't want my daughter working here though. Creepy guys stay away!
I've never been here, but I think I would object to my daughter working there sole on account of the name. IS it a family restaurant? Wow. I didn't know that.
I would eat there. My husband has eaten there and said he wouldn't go back b/c A. It cost him way too much money and B. His waitress had a moustache! hahaha...I wouldn't let my daughter work there but that's just my opinion!
The wings are actually fantastic! Which is why I am so sad that I had to boycott it on principle. A family place it is not and I would be VERY disappointed if my husband went there or if my daughters worked there.
Dh swears it's a family restaurant but I won't go...but I don't like wings anyhow.
Okay, I'm probably going to be the odd gal out here but I've eaten there ... once.
Last year for father's day I loaded the kids in the car and we headed to Hooters. First of all, my boobs were bigger than our waitresses. Jay (my pre-teen) was in chick heaven LOL, he even had our waitress autograph his t-shirt which was a real 'hoot' for him. All of the staff fawned all over the twins, they were just gobbling them up and my poor hubby sat in the corner awfully embarrassed I think that I'd dragged him there LOL. Not to say he hadn't been there before, but he's just not the type to go to strip joints or Hooters. I wanted to go just to see what it was like.
The hot wings were pretty damn good. The kids got hooters balloons and the pre-teen got his shirt signed. We had a bit of fun but I don't know that I'd do it again.
It was good for a one off just to see what it would be like :)
In saying all of that, no I wouldn't want my daughter working there and the food apart from the wings is pretty ordinary
I wouldn't be opposed to eating there once for curiosity's sake since I've never been there, but I would NOT take the kids. I *think* my husband has been there once, and it wouldn't bother me if he went there on a boys' night out. Just not all the time :).
How do you feel about this place? It's a fun place to go with a group of people. Their wings are not that great. It's an ongoing dispute between the husband and me, LOL.
Would you eat here?
I have and it was ok. Again, the wings, not so great.
Would you be pissed if your man went here without you or wanted to go with you?
No not at all. I don't see what the big deal is about the place. I've seen more cleavage and butt cheeks in the mall and on TV.
Would you approve of your daughter working here one day?
I don't know.
Do you approve of this being a 'family' restaurant?
No, I've taken 1 of my children there when he was 15 months. I wouldn't call it a "family" place. But again, I'm sure my kids have seen enough breast to last them a lifetime. I'm a breastfeeder, LOL.
I'm so glad that I found you through Even the Nice Ones. Our opinion on Hooters is very similar. I HATE the place! The only place I hate more is the strip club (for obvious reasons). I would really hope that my daughter wouldn't work there, but if she did I guess I would be ok with it (after crying myself to sleep for many nights). Definitely NOT a family place-and I am so not a prude. I have nothing against admiring the human form and sensuality. It is just that Hooters is very degrading and trashy. Plus, I feel like I'm constantly trying to pinch pennies, clip coupons, and go w/out and it drives me INSANE to think that our money is going to bimbos. This is definitely a hot topic for me.
