I Just Don't Get IT!

This Analytical crap.

How do I find my way around? I have searched and clicked and read and tried to figure it out, and I can not find how or where to see what search brought readers to my site.

Anyone? Anyone?

Oh and if you could not tell by now, I have nothing to blog about. I am drawing a blank. My brain is too tired to even try and think of something to say. That's all folks!

Do you have a counter on your site? I use statcounter. Here is the link:
http://www.statcounter.com/

Go there and put a counter on your site (be sure to remove your IP address so you don't track yourself!). It's really easy to figure out. You will be able to find out where people came from, what keywords they used, how they come to you, etc. It's great and free! I also use Google Analytics but I like Statcounter better.

Hope that helps!

I went to sitemeter.com, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for!

I use Statcounter and Google Analytics. I just can't understand WHERE to find the part that tells you what was googled to find your page. It's not real important, but I wanted to use it for a blog post :)

I use sitemeter but it's not really too specific or at least I haven't figured it out yet :)

Do you mean what key words were used to find your blog? I always find it crazy how people find me that way! But I am not sure if that is what you are looking for. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I've tried to install google analytics on my site but it has never worked. Have you ever tried site meter? It has a referral tab so you can see the searches that bring people to your site.

If you go to my blog, you can see there is something that shows the last 10 visitors. You can set that up. Then you click click on more and it will tell you how people got there.

I do like histat too. It gives a lot of details. In Histat you can show what they searched to get to your website and if they were directly linked by anyone.

Yea I haven't really had that much luck/fun with Google Analytics, either.

Oh well. Guess I need to go back to school or have my kid help me.

I use statcounter also. And the answer is in the keywords. Give that a try while you are working through your brain fart:-) Hee, hee, hee.

I'm with you. I've tried and tried and I don't get it either.

I don't have any good suggestions. Maybe you could do a post saying: how did you find me. That would kill two birds with one stone:
1-figure out how people are finding you

2- have something to post about!

I can tell you I found you through SITS.

Ok. THIS is totally funny. I just jumped over from my google analytics to your blog. It's a sign. We both don't know what the heck we are doing! LOL

I spent a little time over there and had to LEAVE. I don't get it either.
