Some Lessons To Be Learned.....

One of my favorite holidays is coming up.
Valentine's Day!
How could anyone forget? The advertising and store displays have been ongoing since right after Christmas.

Anyhow, my Dad was never the gift-giver.
Being from the 'old school' days of dating and such, he never was a romantic.
Well, I think I gave him a lesson and with that I told him that he "needs to learn" how to take care of his woman. He laughed at me. I do think however, that he listened.

How hard is it to walk into any given department store and pick up a box of chocolates and a card?

I, for one, am a fanatic about V-day!

I have been scoping out the goodies for sometime now.

So what about you?
Do you like Valentines Day?
Do you do something special or just bypass the day as any other?
How important is it to YOU??

I love Valentines day, I pretty much love every holiday but Valentines is one of my favorites also. I hate when people call it just a hallmark holiday, how can you bash an entire day dedicated to ove :)

We like Valentines Day but it comes off the tail of our January/February Birthday Mahem so, we keep this holiday low key:-)

Oooooooh...I have something fabulous planned for V-day this year. Of course I'm going to blog about it. Just give me a few days...

I can't wait to hear all about your V-day!

I'm not that big of a fan. Especially because my husband won't spend a dime on me at any expense.

I like the idea but it seems we are always broke in February. But the love still comes around.

I'm going to be a party pooper and say meh. While the thought is nice, the idea of only putting the effort in to it once a year irks me. Kind of like Mother's Day.

And the whole popularity contest of valentines in grade school was bull. Equally bull? Making kids give out valentines and invitations to all the kids in class.

For me the only fab thing about the day is the chocolate.

And all that red.

I'll be making my homemade valentines tonight.

i think they mean more when they're homemade.

i'll also be baking cookies, making truffles and other goodies to give as gifts.

:)

I will give the GF a card as usual, but I sincerely try to make every day one she will remember.

I like Valentine's Day. It's not my favorite holiday but I still like it.

We are going low key for our first married V-Day. We will be staying home. David will make us supper and I'll make dessert. Probably watch a movie and cuddle too.

I LOVE Valentine's day...but more for my kids than myself. I love to give them little gifts and see their eyes light up. It's such a nice reminder to be loving and kind.

I'm sad, pathetic, nearly 40 and alone and I am having an anti-valentine's day with my friend who is in the same position! I am going to cook for her, we are going to drink martinis and the kids will play while we try and figure out why two fabulous girls are dining with each other on such a romantic night instead of out shagging some bloke!

My hubby and I don't do the card thing. We like to do dinner and a movie, though.

Enjoy your favorite holiday!!
