Musical Monday (Reminds Me of High School)

I graduated from high school in 1988. In my opinion the 80's was, and always will be, the best era of music that ever was. Hands down!

Sure, there are some classics that I adore from the 60's and 70's, but the 80's rocked!

My 12 year old gets a little testy with me when searching radio stations in the van, I stop at the oldies. She just doesn't get it, but I know that my music has just stood the test of time and it will never die!

This weeks theme for Musical Monday is "Reminds Me of High School". One of the first bands that come to mind when I think back to my high school years, is Bon Jovi. I only saw it fitting that I feature the song that takes me back. Never Say Goodbye. Crank it and Enjoy!

I just had flashbacks of kisses in junior high...when I thought the world revolved around me, my boyfriend, and Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, Winger, Cinderella, and Def Leppard.

Wait, the world did revolve around me, my boyfriend, and all those great hair bands. Good times.

The 80's ROCKED! I love the music from that era...when I was in high school! My girls are now getting to the point of appreciating some of it, too! YES! I'm finally winning the battle! I was in love with Jon Bon Jovi (still am, but don't tell my hubby!).

We listened to lots of Bon Jovi too. I had a huge poster of Jon in very tight purple pants! LOL

I'm a fellow 88'er YAY!! ALL hairbands were awesome but I'd agree Bon Jovi was the best! Anything by the early phase of Madonna reminds me of the 80s too.

I also graduated in 88...woo hoo! hands down, the 80's was the best music era ever!

So random story here... I was talking with a woman yesterday who is reading the Michael J. Fox biography and I asked her if she loved Family Ties as much as I did. She gave me this funny look and asked "what's Family Ties?". Huh? Then I asked, "how can you not remember Family Ties...Alex P. Keaton!?" Then she said she was born in 1985. I almost fell over. Boy did I feel old!!! LOL.

80s music is so much fun to sing (really loudly, really horribly) to. I think I prefer the 80s music to my high school early 90s stuff. Not to mention that was my phase of listening to country music....blah. I like some, don't get me wrong, but seriously....? I look back and shake my head.

I didn't appreciate Bon Jovi until later in life, but now I think they rock!

JBJ is a beautiful, beautiful man. I couldn't listen because I have computer issues today, but will pop back in later. Happy MM!

I graduated in 1985 and my kids were RAISED on 80s music! It does my heart good to hear them singing along to the words of songs by The Bangles, The Eagles, Chicago, The Pet Shop Boys, Bryan Adams...oh, just all of them!
