We started out Saturday with a movie. The Dark Knight. Batman. Not my thang! At all. Although I did like the Joker....he kept me entertained. I am thinking one of the reasons this movie is doing so well is because of Heath Ledger. I have to say he did do an awesome job as the Joker.

So, with that out of the way, we headed over to Blue Bayou/Dixie Landing. It's a combination water/amusement park. By the time we got there it was a little late to do the water thing, so we headed over to the dry rides.
Now, my youngest daughter is a daredevil and she is not afraid of nuttin'. I mean, there is no ride that she fears and I believe she has ridden them all. She sure didn't get that 'no fear' gene from me!
This is what she rode first~ A roller coaster that pulls you up (backwards on the track) and then lets you go down first, makes 3 loops upside down and then stops upwards on the other side of the ride, until it takes off again, backwards, to do the 3 loops again. Ugghh!
Here she is, along with my boyfriend, all smiles and not scared one bit.
They are slowly being pulled up to the top of the track here, and she still isn't nerved by it. (Her mother was choking down her own vomit as this was going on)
When it was all said and done, she actually finished up with a smile on her face. Again, her mother would have been crying, vomiting, having a stroke at this exact moment, had she dared put her butt on this sort of ride.
This is just ONE of the loops (the first of the 3) that she had to endure (frontwards and backwards, mind you)
So then it was off to watch as my two offspring (yes my other daughter rides some of these death defying concoctions too, but isn't quite the daredevil) risk their stomach contents some more.
My darling baby girl rode this monster!
They all rode this one....I do not like to feel like falling and this definitely looks like you would feel your stomach in your throat!
Now this one is called the hotshot. If you look closely towards the top, those are people and their dangling feet. It sorta teases you by lifting you a ways up from the ground and then suddenly pulls you all the way up to the top and then drops you back down, almost to the bottom and leaves you dangling. Then it pulls you up again and you're left hanging once again. My heart wouldn't be able to take it. Seriously. My baby rode this. My heart still hurts!
Here she is all calm, cool and collected on a much calmer ride. Although you wouldn't get me on this one either. The falling thing, ya know!

Here they all are, dangling in the air, only being held on by some flimsy chain. Again, I won't get on this, but I did. The falling. Oh my! Never again!

As you can tell, I like to watch and just use to excuse of taking pictures not to have to ride anything. I did ride the scrambler. It's on the ground, and it doesn't make me feel like I am falling to my death. :)
Zoo pictures to share later....

That looked like a fun day! I am "itching" for a good roller coaster ride! I just hate waiting in the long lines!
I am so afraid of heights that I sometimes feel sick if I look up too long, I can't be near my family when they are on rides, much less take pictures of them. You are a braver woman than I am.
love your site! i haven't seen batman yet, so thanks for your input. i about got motion sick and nauseated looking at the roller coaster pictures...i myself used to be quite the dare devil on those rides...not so much anymore. oh well :(
That looks like so much fun!!!!!!!
I love roller coasters! I would have been all over those. We still haven't take our kids to an amusement park but I am guessing that those roller coasters won't go over well with either of them. They'll stick to the merry go rounds, I'm sure.
Now those are my kind of rides! I always have a hard time getting anyone to go on them with me though!
My daughter is the dare devil in this house. County Fair is coming up here ~ nothing as thrilling as those rides but still way otta my league!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog today! It made me smile!
Your post made me crack up. I hate roller coasters! We were just at Busch gardens in Virginia a few weeks back and my whole family (2 little boys included) boarded what we thought was a MILD kiddie coaster. It turned out to we so WILD. My poor 4 year old. I think he is damaged for life!
Tag your it.. check out my blog to see how to play!
Oh that looks like alot of fun! My daughter is a daredevil too, she'd go on anything. We haven't yet hit the amusement parks this summer yet because of Jack's fear. And not a fear of the rides mind you, fear of people. He always asks me everywhere we go if there will be alot of people there. Poor little guy as social anxiety. So doesn't get this from me, its my husbands doing. Hopefully he gets over this soon because next year he starts kindergarden!!
Okay, I feel ill just looking at the photos ... or maybe it was reading about liver and then looking at the photos LOL.
I hate rides. I go on the ferris wheel and that's IT. I hate anything that spins or goes fast
