It's My Blog and I'll Cry If I Want To!

So I came here to fuss. Vent. Whine. Whatever floats your boat!

First day of school. Yay! Already the problems. Ugghh!

Oldest daughter gets into the van when I pick them up. (they only had a half day today) *crying* "My skirt is too tight, it hurts me".

Me: Why are you telling me that now instead of before I bought it, you did try it on, it's a little late to be saying it doesn't fit!

We get home. Another crisis. Again, oldest daughter.
"My booksack won't zip right, the zipper is messed up."
Me: Oh great, well let me get the receipt, we're bringing it back and getting another one.

Problem solved.

Again, yet another problem. Still oldest daughter.

"My reading teacher said that the book you made me read this summer (that I stressed over and fussed at her and MADE her sit and read) is not appropriate and we don't have to read that one. I am mad at you mom, for making me read it."

Me: Well, I'll be a blankety blank blank blank! It's not my fault! I researched that book before school ended last year and didn't find it to be a good choice, but the librarian assured me that it would be fine!

So I email teacher, she says it is ok that oldest daughter read the book and she can do a report on it and the one she's reading now, just have her finish it by Monday.

Sure, dear teacher, easier said than done!

I hate school!

oh joy..I am so not looking forward to this...
All those projects that have to be done..

supposedly by the student..
but you know the parents are the ones that do 99.5% of it and the student kicks back and dictates a bunch of crap..
or maybe its just my kids..
hmmmm
What was the book she read? What grade is she in?

So so glad I have a boy! I remember going to senior school (you start at 11 in England) and having to wear a school blazer and you could either have black or blue. Everyone in the whole school had a black one and my mom got me a blue one from a yard sale. Not to mention it was 2 sizes to big for me but she insisted I would grow into it.

School is hard when you are a kid!

She is starting the 6th grade and the book they were supposed to read was called "Scorpia". Its something about a boy who finds out his dad is an assassin for a terrorist group....yada yada. I didn't want her to read it to begin with, and then after she finishes the whole thing they say it's not appropriate.I guess not, she said "it has the B word in it, the A word and the H word." For 11 year olds!!

I wish mine were back to school already. Girls can be quite dramatic and cruel to each other. I do believe the first 2 years of middle school are the toughest of all.

Oh lordy. My kids go back September 2 and my son starts high school as a freshman. He's already nervous and I am so not looking forward to those first few days. *Deep cleansing breath*

Joy of joys. Seriously, I hate these issues too. I'm dreading J going back in a couple of weeks. Ugh.
